From my limited experience as long as you have the right mount and a full-metal block (with the right mounting of course) you will be fine.

I say this because if you are chilling the liquid down enough, the efficiency of your block plays a less important role than it would in normal liquid cooling.

Don't ignore the fact that certain blocks will ALWAYS be better than others, but don't stress over 1-5C change in temps from one block to another when your sitting at 0C to begin with. Better to worry about other stuff

I have a crap Apogee GT (old school) and only ran into diminishing returns on heat transfer with my Q6600 at 4.2ghz. CPU temp under load was 20 something C and liquid temp in the res was -8C.
    Overclocking and freezing-things noob.

instead of an apogee gtz get the XT... works really good on my loop.

the only con i can see for this particular block is the placement of the input output fittings, too close together; u will have to get some thin clamps which don't get cramped there.

i had a real hard time getting them settled (mine are the ones that swiftech includes in their kits), but once i did i never experienced leakage!

    cheers mate!

    Hi,

On the XT you should be able to just turn the top plate around and opens
    the barb space.

    Did it on mine.
