    It's been a pleasure, Opera

    But so long.

Plenty of nifty features and plenty of speed.

But now it's just pissed me off to the point where its uninstall as soon possible or else someone is going to die. Little bugs that just shouldn't exist in a browser that mature. Not even IE is this bad.

To be fair I did tweak it. I moved all personal preference folders/browser cache off to a different disk. But that is still no reason: this is basic functionality.

A web browser has got to be the most dependable piece of software on my machine because I rely on it more than any other single app. If it cannot fulfill the basic task of browsing/downloading then it has no right to exist. As far as I am concerned it's in beta stage.

Don't even get me started on chrome. No options, no customizability, barely any plugins.. chrome is bad in my books. Not to mention buggy.

Back to firefox. My only gripe with it is the ridonkulous memory leaks which they never seem to be able to trace but I'll live with that. Availability over reliability any day of the week for computer software.

You havent even stated whats wrong with it.

You cant just say stuffs crap without even having a reasonable explanation as to whats wrong with it, Plus if it bothers you that much why dont you try doing the decent thing and reporting the bug or issue to the software development team so they can try to fix it in a future release.

Firefox fixed the memory leaks a long time ago, i havent had a single case of a memory leak even when i leave it running with 20 tabs open for hours on end.

This is a really crappy thread.

the ONLY reason i still use Opera is because of the shortcuts menu where i can use CTRL+1 etc to go to saved website links

a lot of websites just flat out dont work properly with it...java stuff etc

Youtube slow with you guys as well? Like having a 1080p vid loaded completely, yet stopping halfway through. Or videos takes like 10-15 seconds to initialize..

Love Opera, but that is pissing me off as well.

The real issue I had is I would be browsing XS, then as I am scrolling images on the page get "stuck" on the screen and they cover up a good chunk of the view space (they get stretched out of shape). The only way to make them go away is restart tab. Funny I only noticed this after I installed opera on the SSD.

Opera doesn't understand "enter". I type my username/pass press enter, it doesn't submit the form.

@dinos, yes thats the other thing. Lots of incompatibility with other sites.

@lunatic I think that issue happens when the flash player loses focus it appears to confuse opera at times. Although it might be a bug with the flash player for Opera, nothing opera can do about this.

Now I have 4 browsers in every build/ update of my rig... I use the ie only when I have to, then chrome and firefox are my browsers of choice as firefo has needed add-ons and chrome is fast for browsing, and lastly there is backup browser that I sometimes use (safari sometimes)

Didn't like it, no add-ons and couldn't customize it to my liking like FF.

Firefox memory leaks? A thing of the past (even though I never experienced it myself).

You don't use firefox enough. Keep it running for 3-4 days like I do and show me mem-leaks fixed. For most users if you restart it often enough its not noticeable.

    One of these days..

    I use opera.
And I easily prefer it to chrome, IE and FF.
I dunno, I think out of the box its pretty much what I want, so theres no need to mess about with it.
