is it possible to weld areas of aluminum just 2mm apart for waterblocks

basically, i need to get 2 aluminum parts welded together and at the tightest corner, there's only 2mm gap between the welds

    is it possible?

basically it looks like this, the lid will be placed where a indentation has been made for it. then welding is done on the edges of the lid, sealing the box.

this is just a quick example of what i intend to weld. but for the actual item i want to weld, the welds will be as close as 2-4mm from the nearest weld.

    is it possible?

Yes it can be done, but usually only by laser or ultra precision machine welding.

Find a very skilled TIG welder and its doable by hand. Id need to see real pics to give you an accurate answer though.

Can you cut a groove/gland in the base tray to seal with an o-ring? Or place a epoxy into the groove/gland?

    Or ...

Can you allow spot tack welding in any of the areas? Does this need to seal too?
