    General mobo questions

Hey guys ive been eyeballing an Asus RE3 but have also noticed the EVGA FTW3. How do the 2 boards compare to one another? Ive come across many asus reviews but not too many in depth reviews on the EVGA. Any pros or cons between the two or specific reasons why I should pick one board over the other? Thanks in advance.

Thx for the info. I considered the e768 because it happened to be more updated so I assumed it was better than the E768. I noticed your not a fan of the RE3 any particular reason why?

my board wont go any higher than 214blk with any of my 3 bloomfields
when i had a gulftown chip it did 220blk
its got a below average x58 chip
i've played with 10+ x58 boards and my rexIII did lowest blk just my luck lol
i sold my ramapage II gene cause it only did 222blk lol and my rexII cause it only did 229blk lol

Thats not the first time I have heard that about those boards. Whats your take on the E768 since its the most updated version of the evga boards. I do like the usb 3.0 and the sata 6gbps ports especially when running crucial ssd's in raid. I am running a single 480gtx with the posibly of going sli in the future so I am not sure if the E760 is worth it.

lol such a big board for a guy who not sure he will go sli. Well thanks for the info at least I know which evga board is best. What your take on quality ram im looking for 2000mhz kits. Im debating between gskill, corsair gt, or super talents. There are many tri channel kits and im looking for something beastly.

    i bought a spare set of mushkin 1600 6-8-6 ram it does 1800 cas6
got it for 150$ after mir lol
buy the supertalent 2k cas8 just make sure you put a fan on em
you dont need to run 2000mhz around 1700 cas6 is best for 24/7

I see you wouldnt run above 1700 for 24/7 use? I wanted to see what it would be like running them at there rated speeds or am I nuts?

it just takes too much vtt voltage to run 2000mhz+ 24/7 when 1650-1700mhz cas6 is actually just as fast maybe even faster
for playin around i dont mind pumpin in 1.55v qpi vtt but for 24/7 no thanks
