If only they had an A64 as a choice, but I went with a P4C and I ended up at 375watts, but after additional Vcore at such, I'd geuss It'll be over 400.
Just a novelty thing I guess. Can't really go by it. It should divide it up into amps on the specific rails. 400w with 15a on 12v and 400w with 35a on 12v is a huge difference.
That calculator has been around for ages, and i can't say it is that accurate either. It shows that i need a 400w psu and my computer works well with a 225w.
same here
my big rig runs on a 350w and that page says 400w+, same for my small clocking rig with a 300w psu. the later is limited by its small psu - noticed that while testing, so it'll get a bigger psu soon.
also the wattages for palominos seemed a bit too far off iirc.
sky / s!p - we are oldskool, dammit.
btw, so u dont need to test urself, the test maximum yeilds 734 watts ( i tried)

That page is totaly wrong im afraid....
using output wattage as a measure of PSU quality is a bad idea to start with...
But to just add up the wattages like that is just dumb... as far as I can tell its not even taking into account 5v/12v/3.3v split....
ive run full size PCs on good quality 200watt power supplies...
(from SFF systems)
ive also had supposed 550watt PSUs that wont power even a simple system they have been of such low quality.
(Q-Tech unit)
When buying a PSU you need to get somthing of quality... buying a genuniely good brand such as Forton Scource or PCP&C is the only way to get a decent unit.
Totally agreed.Originally posted by Holst

Each PSU is very much different from another. For example I had tested 550w no-name PSUs that had worse real wattage output than an average branded 350w PSU. You can't measure which PSU you'll need like that.
Of course, from what I can understand, they use this to measure the power supply that your system will need from THEIR line of power supplies.
Calculating by the page my PC needs more than 600w of power and I run with an Antec Truepower 480w which is merely having fun with all I got on it.
