I gave up. But I really want to get Windows on it. Yes, I know, that's not very nerdy of me, and it is more nerdy to have linux on it, but I'm worthless with linux and I can't wrap my head around it.

The System Monitor runs at a higher priority than WCG WUs. That is why you see the crazy looking CPU usuage. Open a terminal window and type top

I can't get mine to boot. Here is what I have:
    RAM in all slots
    All four CPUs populated
    SATA DVD on SATA20
SATA HD on random SATA port
Tried a HIS Radeon 9250 [AGP]
    Tried a Galaxy 9500GT [PCIe]
    LED1 and 2 are off
    LED 3 is green
    LED 4 is amber

Any ideas? Just order an x550 video card?

I think I have one if you want one. Cost of shipping only and some patience for me to mail it since the PO is usually closed by the time I get off work, so Saturdays are really my only chance to ship stuff via USPS. Or I can ship fedex during the week but for a small vid card that costs more.

Thanks for the offer. I just eBayed up an X550 for about $7. Hope it works. If not, I'll keep your offer in mind. Thank you.

i haven't seen a non-pci nvidia card work yet, not saying it's impossible but that x550 should work. Either way we'll be here to help you

    As i have told before,
i have used successfully the below cards.
    PCIe
    Ati x700,hd1650
    Nvidia 9800GT
    PCI
    ati 7500
    nvidia rica tnt 16mb.
My board has bios dated from 11/26/2007 , version 0.9.6.ec
    Name ARGo -AR11
could you tell us what your mobo is running on so we could figure out the most recent bios?
I could grab a bios image for others to use.
    please contribute.

Once I get video, I'll get that BIOS revision. Unless its on a label that I'm not seeing this morning. I had your list when I went shopping last night for a video card actually! LOL. I saw a 9800GT but it was $125 and I thought that was too much for a server. Plus I don't want any more power requirements than a bare minimum. Do you have a link for the most recent BIOS update? That way I can make sure I update right away. Hopefully have the most stable BIOS available.

    Thanks again, team!

How would you grab a bios image let alone flash the bios on this board? I mean, if we could figure out how to flash it, I'm sure somebody could add full ACPI support to it. Someone did to another Arima board a while back (saw it on another forum).

Flashrom will get the job done. Also i have found some forumers in mydigitallife community.
But our primal task is to figure out if there is a newer bios than the one is in my board.
please uses sysinfo or get into the bios to see the revision and report back.

I don't know if this board has a sound card.. Linux didn't pick one up anyways.

My board with four 8347's averages in the 30,000's WCG points per day.

It has four NICs, no sound, no video. I can list the full amount of ports once I get home. It only has a PCIe x16 and an AGP slot.

So hmmm your telling me that 4 of these processors compare to one i7
And you can't push the fsb on this board to oc
well I wonder if using the HE processors you could at least match a 980x at stock speed :S well it is definitely a cheaper alternative but I dunno.
I wish there was a lga 1366 quad processor board (oc'able would be a bonus) max I can get from intel right now is a sp2 board, but that board is only dual socket

The advantage of this platform is the startup cost is lower than i7
