But I'm wondering why all these good looking and great coolers on GTX460 insist on dumping the hot air inside the case. The Cyclone-cooler doesn't even try to hide it, but this HAWK cooler will dump the same amount of heir inside the case. I'm wondering why they couldn't seal it.
Well, I think the coolers that keep the air inside the case actually work much better than the enclosed designs with the blower fan at the end. This also gives the heatsink designers more area to work with, so in the end you'll have a larger heatsink/fan versus the enclosed designs, helping with temps.

I've always preferred the enclosed designs as well, but none of my other components are running any hotter with my new Cyclone 768MB card. Heck, it almost runs at the same temps at Load that my 9600GSO ran at idle (~50*C). Doing this while staying completely silent (65% fan locked).

To the OP - That is a fantastic card, hope (like many others), that the retail samples will clock just as well. Great job!

hot cards intended for mainstream buyers use the exhaust method because it is more fool-proof. the side effect is it does a crappier job than something like this frozr one.

what does fool-proof mean? go to hardocp on any given day and someone is complaining about a problem that will turn out to be from overheating because they're foolish. companies pay for this with support costs. the exhausting coolers save them money compared to the alternative.

but if you have any idea of what you're doing, and sometimes even if you don't, this frozr type of heatsink can be much better.

if you have a shuttle case with ty ventilation then maybe you want a blower exhauster. but a regular computer with two big fans on the back is more than capable of dealing with the <200W produced by the gtx 460.

I'm wondering why they couldn't seal it.
how is the air from two 80mm fans going to escape through one slot on the back? it can't, that's how. the fans would be spinning without moving air.

This product will come with a custom PCB, from the looks of it follows the Military class component selection with the supa-dupa chokes and quality capacitors.
If you look at the tiny connectors to the right, these are voltage monitor points where you can tap voltage lines like GPU and memory.
notice that this card has eight chips thus is the slightly more difficult to overclock 32 ROPs 1024MB version
    Hawk MSI Afterburner version:

I think the Cylone can handle 1.21v as well if you remove the cap in the bios. Not sure if it's safe for 24/7 operation or not though.

awesome scores mate! seems MSI really took it to another level with their 460's..

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?
