    CPU compatibility

So I surprisingly got a D0 Celeron D 356 ES to work in my Asus P5PL2 rev1 board which isn't supposed to support the D0 stepping. This got me wondering if I could use my Pentium Dual-Core E5200 I have sitting in the basement. They both use the PCG-06 power platform. Do you think it would work? I thought that maybe the Celeron only worked because it was ES. Is there any risk factor trying to use a possibly incompatible CPU?

it can't harm the board, only thing is that it won't boot...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Thanks for the info! I hope it'll boot. This heatsink is hard to orient when being taped-down diagonally.

Didn't work... My fans would turn on and my hdd would make a funny noise, but nothing else.... On the plus side, my Celly is running a couple degrees cooler!
