    GTX 480 and OC

Hi, I want tweak my GTX 480. I saw a lot of results, where memory is not overclocked or reduced. Why ? People focus on core clock.

You'll get a lot more performance out of the core/shader clocks. You can make memory adjustments after that's settled.

I'll have to agree the guy needs to use google... theres no point in telling him to go off and do this and that if he doesnt understand what hes doing. Thats where google comes in. Understand what you are doing before trying it

    1. Add your systems specs to your sig. (it help us help you)

    2. Are you liquid cooling your card ?

    3. is your bios volt modded ?

    4. If the above questions answers are yes; proceed to #5. if not search in this forum for #3 and seriously start thinking on #2. now proceed to #5. If you get into liquid cooling your max temps should be around 70c.

    5. Using afterburner, start increasing your core clock 50mhz at a time (nothing on your memory or volts yet) and run 3d mark vantage until it fails.

    6. When it fails raise your volts .10 at a time until vantage pass.

    7. Repeat this process (#5 and #6) until your temps under load are around 100c. (I would not go above 100c)

    8. Now start raising your memory 20 mhz at a time running 3d vantage each increase until vantage fails. When vantage fails, move the level a few mhz lower and run vantage again until vantage finish a complete run. (Higher volts should get you higher memory clocks but at this point your temps are 100c so no more volts adjustments)

    9. That will probably be your limit until you do #2 and #3.
This is a long process and a lot of reading. When you think you cant get more out of you card, step away from your tweaking and start searching for more information on the net.

Hope that this info can get you started.

Here is where i am now (my best score so far to date). Started awhile back and once in awhile I tweak some more.

    Good luck
