Depends on what you mean by Oc'ing ? 230-240Bclock needed for LN2 action ? Or eg 220 for daily stability as eg a gaming rig ?
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Probably the EVGA E760 Classified, I havent tried it yet but I think that would be the general consensus. I have the Gigabyte X58A-UD7 and have been very happy with it for around 8 months now. Also have tried the R3E but was less than satisfied with its ability to overclock my 920, 930 or any bloomfield chip I installed in it for that matter, but some say they are very happy with it, I guess its luck of the draw.

I dont think the newer boards are any better for the 920 than the older ones, maybe worse. The newer boards are designed more for Gulftown.

the same chip, just with a 22 multiplier. 930 replaced the 920.

    How about the Classified E759?

Was that a good board for bloomfields?

There are many good choices for 24/7 OC's. If your not really going to WC your mobo (which is not needed anyways) there are many choices:

E760 Classified is a really nice board, I like EVGA's bios
E762 4 way sli classified has been on sale on the egg for a ridiculous $299 after MIR but its harder to find a case for
UD5 Gigabyte is a nice board
UD7 Gigabye is also very nice
REx 2 or 3 would both work for 24/7 oc's. People report the REx3 is better for Gulftowns and REx2 is better for 45nm's but for a 4.2 - 4.3GHz 24/7 OC i doubt it matters.

I think you can't lose with any of those boards and as long as the extra size or power draw of the nf200's isn't a deal breaker I think the E762 for $299 would be my personal choice followed by the UD7.

I'm not sure what the price is for E762 around your area but here in Aus E762 is cheaper than R3E. More of a question of fitment really. But if that isn't an issue I would buy the E762.

    thats the problem with 762

the cases that it fits in are limited

except if our friend does not still own a case, than it can be arranged

for example in Greece, no EVGA mobo is available in any store and the price of REX2 ang REX3 are identical

Gigabyte UD5 has also been a solid performer... 4-4.2Ghz is a no brainer on the above boards. In fact not even a high watercooling setup required...

I always put an Antec Spotcool directed at the IOH. But the full size waterblocks are far better in keeping ya hardware cool...

I know 4-4.2Ghz is no problem for any mobo but for higher frequencies, I think a high end mobo is better

I haven't tried the UD7 rev 2 yet but I think it may be another good choice, I have a feeling it has been designed to compete with R3E for GT extreme overclocking...so if you decide later to get a GT may be a win win

And yes R3E is great aswell. Hopefully you get one with a good IOH though

One of the deciding factors for me was a WC block. I wanted a 1 piece block and liked the EK block for the Classified, so I went with a classified + EK block. This depends on your taste, that was a while ago also. I don't know the current blocks for all these boards. (a quick search of the EK site shows REx 3 has full cover blocks and I'm sure someone offers solutions for the gigabyte boards.

Actually down to $280 with MIR on the egg now, they must be trying to clear out inventory and discontinue that model for sure

Had a UD5 , a good Board , Had a E758 , good board but screwed PWM cooling, had a RE II , never worked good, RE III ; didn't play well , UD7 except USB issues with the early BIOS it's been the greeatest i7 board I had. Classified is impossible to get there therefore can't say.
