I will post a photo of it when i can... but as i was said it's maybe due to the position of the socket on your Evga Classified or they have change it on new production.

Anyway, nice review, i agree with other post there, it's nice to see a reviews who don't only glorify a product, as badly it's offtly the case.

That could be, that the socket position is different on your Gigabyte board.
It's gonna be rare to get an A+ out of me with any product.
Everything's gotta be there, including value for the price.

I agree with you they should have think to a different position, but the Evga is a special case anyway, you should maybe mention it... cause when we watch your review ( it's a good review, no problem with that, personnally i will have give him a B ), we have the feeling CM have done a big error and make an hole, but it's useless... It's a special case if it's only a problem with a specific board..., ofc they could have think to the EVGA ( XL ATX ?) and so specificy it ....

Like I said in the review, the EVGA X58 Classified is pretty much the standard-bearer for the 1366 series.
No offense to a Gigabyte board, but that's just the truth.
You're the first person I've heard who has anything other than a 775 board and can use the cutout.

All x58 boards use the same position for the socket, it's include offcourse all Asus ( rampage II, III, P6), gigabyte board ( UD3 > UD9), MSI etc..

I need addition the gigabyte use a 90°C turn socket ( horizontal ) when asus is using a "standard " vertical socket, it's even more easy on the initial asus rampage III...

I take a photo tomorrow of the backplate ( my girl is in vacation for the week end and have my focus with her ) you will see there's no problem with any X58 boards.. the case is new ( 1 week ), so maybe they have modifiy that .

edit: sorry for the bad quality of the photo.. but this is the back hole of a HAFX, you can see a gigabyte X58A-UDR3 with the backplate of the Apogee GTZ waterblock. the X58A UDR3 use a 90°C horizontal socket, it's the same of the UD5-UD7-UD9 version, the position of the socket is the same used on ALL X58 board outside the fact it's horizontal and not vertical ( Asus, etc..) ... i have check with "old" socket 775 motherbooard it work too,.-

I will see with EVGA if they have modified the position of the socket and if this is the problem.

    Perfect no ?

Looking at the review again, it seems very clear the the socket on the EVGA Classified is further to the <------
Like I said, it's not as if this is an off-brand board. Something that absolutely should've been taken into consideration during the design phase.

And i said same of you, if the case is made for support all type of motherboard (XL ATX as the evga classified ), this should be mentionned, what i wanted to say, is you will not get this problem with standard ATX boards ..

( sorry for my english )

I don't believe it's made to support XL ATX, but it is compatible with E-ATX, as my Classified is.
If it's got the standoff support holes for E-ATX, the cutout in turn should be big enough ;-)
