Nice score Bart, is it possible to check 3D performance ?
Getting a bit torn now.. I had issues with the REX III over 227-228 Bclock. I reported this to Milan and Rogier. Popped in a 980X , no probs even at +230 Bclock. Popped back the 970 ( the one that capped out at 228 clock ) and now it runs happily at 230 too on air...
It's sort of driving me nuts
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved
Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree
so the single power for cpu isn't an issue, i imagine, with the pcie power input. Guess i'll need to see some high frequency OCs. BCLK is looking nice and selling me. I'm very close to pressing buy on one of these.

I mean, asus has a very solid package here. I don't have plans on running quad sli, and the rog usb hookup is quite nifty. LN2 mode is useful, the only problem is that again they didn't put diagnosis LEDs on it again. Is that solved by the USB hook up or do i gotta get a diagnosis pci card? All they're offering on this board, is there anything else that even comes close for the cash?

Great going Viss, awesome.
@lesstutrey
Well the pcie power input is to support multi graphics cards. I tried it connected & disconnected testing the high bclk, gfx performance thing & saw no real benefit, at least on the clocks I was running.
Not sure if the OC Station is even active during post to give you post diagnosis info. A PCI card would be best solution if you feel the need.

most of these newer x58 boards seem to be able to accomodate the higher BLCKs on the gufltowns, but it doesn't look the same for bloomfields. all the research I've done seem to point to a decrease in pci(e) performance with BLCK over 218 on the bloomfield chips with this board. noone's really been able to pinpoint the problem as far as I know, but that didn't stop me from picking one up since I only plan to go for a high 24/7 OC on air (currently waiting on my next few paychecks so I can upgrade my psu and OC w/o worries, lol).
currently sitting on 3.6ghz (180x20)@2.5v with ram set at 1444mhz 6-7-6-18 1n@1.5v and running solid (glad they were sold out of the 2000mhz ripjaws and I ended up going with the pi for $25 cheaper now, haha). the included mofset fan is kind of nice, but I'm not sure it really does all that much and it can't really be mounted where you'd want to put it with the wider heatsinks. cpu <> dimm spacing is good enough for the single tower thermalright/cogage heatsinks+fan to be able to use ram with taller ramsinks for the east-to-west mounting (forgot to check soulth-to-north mount). pretty happy with it so far, just wish I had a new psu so I could really start cranking the sucker up, lol.
@ Cursed.
Im running 4ghz ( 21x191 ) on water, the only thing i have to cool the Vreg are 2x120mm @ 1200rpm mounted on top of my bench. The Vreg heatsink arnt hot, and the temp are in the 50s. Im waiting for a fullcover block for the R3F ...

@cursed_wings: it's bigger, more expensive brother, the r3e does high bclks with bloomfields. Record of 269bclk set on the r3e is with a 920. As this board is basically the little, less expensive, brother, i'm hoping it can clock bloomfields just as well as it's bigger brother. Anyone care to go for a high bclk with a bloomfield?
And yeah, i guess with dual bios if one goes screwy i could just switch over to stock setting one, though i do like error codes sometimes.

I should have specified a bit more that the BLCK problem was specific to the formula (I thought it was kinda clear, and that's what I was trying to point out), for some reason when it's pushed over 218 on bloomfields the pci-e performance drops. this could be a batch specific problem (who knows), but I'm just parroting info here that a few reviewers and several overclockers have noted about the formula. making sure it's clear, this doesn't happen with the extreme.
on a side note; I never said the mofset cooler was necessary, just a nice freebie however useless it is for it's intended purpose

hhmm without slow mode I could not even boot at 230 bclk lol . I will give it a go again next days .... hopefully on LN2 .
Slowmode obviously

Thanks for review. Do you know if this board supports vcore-offset (relative-vid) like the gene or is it just absolutes like the extreme?
No It's just absolutes. I must admit I was a bit surprised seeing that, after having a number of asus bioards recently that did have the offset mode. I must admit i've found the offset mode particularly useful when ocing with turbo enabled.

It gives good performance in 3D with 980x and 480 under LN2 , the Board does not have a single problem at temps of -180 max -190 as this crappy 980x does not have a cold bug i ran full pot all the time , the board prformed flawlessly and efficiecncy of 3D its on par with R3E and Classy 760-762. I will give it a test for high BCKL later this week on Bloomfield to see where it goes.

Solid board. This is with 980X under SS, next weekend LN2
Do either of you guys on sub zero reckon the LN2 Mode Jumper makes any difference ?
