Asus Rampage III Formula Official thread

Asus Rampage III Formula Official thread

Was pleased to get this, like many I've been keen to see what this board is like and how it performs.

I don't think it's quite as good looking as the Asus Crosshair IV Formula. Looking at the options for LN2, the Digi+ and extra BIOS feartures and tweaks it looks a bit more muscular That's first initial impression anyways. There'as a lot more features to explore

    Dual Bios
Want to run 2 different bios versions you can.

switch between BIOS, no problem, press the red button

Fire it up! Love the removable dual BIOS chips! Looks like it's going to be a very solid board, can't wait til it arrives in the US.

Board looks great. This is the board that should have been out since early 1366 launch.

I read this over at OCN, Asus Rampage 3 Formula First Look

I wont be posting a full review (even though one has been written) but the board is very average and beaten in most tests by the P6X58-E, so its probably a good idea its not getting a full release
Now this was bit of a disappointment, any comments about it supershanks.

They won't be releasing it in the UK and some of the EU, although the Nordic countries may get it, as far as we know, the US and Asia are getting it.

I believe that the reason they pulled it from UK and EU sale was that the pricing came in too close to the RIIIE which would obviously affect sales. In the US, it is allegedly going to come in at around $100 less than the RIIIE which would make much more sense. Seems they can't do that over here, not sure why.

As for it being poor and beaten by the P6X58D-E, I'm sure I could send ours up to Supershanks for some direct comparisons if there's enough interest.

Why would it be thrashed by the P6X58D-E, most X58 all perform alike clock for clock...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

My concern was not the performance because it´s as you say, they perform alike, my disappointment was about that it might not going up for sale in EU.

We've heard that it's up to the local offices to decide wether or not they will distribute this particular board in their regions. So it could be available in your Euro country. Though the price difference with eg a REX III is negligable...

Yes this new stuff seems better, usually I've always seen a couple of C reduction after lifting them.
