Best 4GB kit for 2500Mhz or higher 24/7 stable?

Curious what 4GB kits can run 2500mhz or higher for 24/7 stability. Have an i7 880 with a very good IMC (fun times playing with my CAS 9 2000mhz Ripjaws) that I want to max out.

I am 100% aware that speeds that high mean literally nothing in terms of real world performance, but I love RAM clocking/tweaking so I need me a fun kit to push hard with Memtest

I'm not interested in kits that can do 2500Mhz with 12-15-12-2T timings, 9-10-9 would be great if possible but trcd of 11 would be acceptable.

I haven't had the fortune of playing with any good PSC kits or Hyper kits, just these BBSE which are fun, but I need more sets to tinker with

Suggestions? Price isn't much of a concern, availability isn't much of a concern either, I can spend all night posting WTB threads all over the net.

there is a lot of brands make 2500 cl9 with 11 tRCD dualChannel kit
Gskill, patroit, kingston, corsair ... all of them have PSC IC and they are specified 2500 9-11-9 dipend on your country availablity

    personaly test only 2500 9-11-9 from gskill they did 2500 8-11-8 stable @ 1.65

In the "air test" thread you and George o/c are saying you don't think any system can really run 2400-2500+ 24/7 though...

My 880 is on water with 480mm of radiator right now so can use pretty high voltages I'm sure

the voltage is not a problem, i never tested new 880 but i tested a lot of 860 and 870 it wasn't easy find a cpu can hanlde 2400/2500 memory, linx/hyperpi stable air cooling stable, maybe with a good IMC and great liquid cooling u can do it.

    Good Luck

I know the IMC is probably the limiting factor, but thats why I created this thread so I could know which RAM kit will give me the best shot at those speeds.

    What is your suggestion?

Here is about where I'm at with the Ripjaws:

Can bench higher and run 32M higher, but to pass HCI Memtest and 25 pass Linx, can't get much higher with 1.66v. 1T is stable too but BIOS doesn't like to keep it locked in for some reason when saved as a profile.

IMC voltage is 1.30 in BIOS and tried 2400mhz with up to 1.4v on the IMC and it didn't help so I'm thinking the RAM might be holding the IMC back from it's capability, hence the want for some PSC sticks that might do better

I ran it while Memtest was running

Just trying with lowest bclk I can to see if the RAM can take it.

DDR3-2500 for daily isnt an easy task...
IMC is the issue as HIWA already pointed out, from 1150 to 1250 is quite a jump. ~1185-1230 is likely where you'll face issues with aircooled processor.

MaxxMem BW can push upwards of 21k overall with that speed on 2:10 but I can't get 230bclk 24/7 stable. LinX passes 10-12 times before fail and Prime 95 runs 30-35 min.

Talking about the 2000 version of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820211411 ? Are they PSC ICs?

I'm not concerned with difficulty, that is somewhat of my point here. Set a tough goal to reach, and reach it, but I need suggestions on which kits can give me the best chance of getting there.

The G.Skill 2500 CL9 PIS kit should be more than capable of maxing out your IMC. If money is not an issue you could try two sticks of Corsair's GTX4, rated 2533MHz, 9-11-10-30.

PS: The ADATA Kit is using Hyper chips, at least the 2200C8 kit you linked.

Think these are the same as the 2400's? Gotta be the exact same sticks dont they? Unless G.Skill started binning.

@Don, thanks for tips, I think I'm going to roll PSC this run and play with those a bit. Money isn't much of a concern means I'd try basically anything but the $650 kit of GTX4

I've got he Patriot Viper II Sector 5 2500MHz 9-11-9 kit but I'm struggling to go above 2300MHz. Which is the maximum IMC voltage recommended for Air-cooling?

Hiwa have u tested any bbse's which can run about the same or higher then the PSc's u linked?

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

Bbse need higher voltage to do this for sure check my old threads somewhere i tested 2133 cl9 bbse dj-f and the max @ 1.9 vdimm was like 2400 but in triple channel.

oh, Is it true that bbse's yield better latency and bandwidth tho over the psc's? just run higher voltage?

According to the Intel white papers 1,4Vs, but if you try this its at our own risk- I reject all liability

well, BBSE were very nice moduls for Overclockers and daily use users, better than Hyper caz they aren't fragile like hypers, but with higher tRCD we couldn't able to do +2400 or so with triplechannel (i tested them only in triple), really no one thought need test them with higher tRCD (no need do this if your kit can do tighter timing for higher performance ), it's like someone buy hyper MGH and run it 9-11-9 for daily use, make no sense

no dubt buy BBSE if you can find them for good price and you want enjoy Performance overclocking, but for daily use trust me if you play MafiaII or latest games nothing change on your final FPS go for PSC

I saw Hiwa using 1.55v for many tests, not to say using much more when extreme-cooling his CPU (Which I'm not). I'm using a Rampage III Formula and a Core i7 860, but it seems I can't pass 2300MHz at all

Nevermind... I solved the "problem" by downloading latest M3F 2001 BIOS. It seems 1801 BIOS hated my new kit.
I'm using 1.35v for IMC and the're running OK at the moment. It's time to stress them.
