One thing I dont get with these competitions... why do so many people complain about the "buy-in?"
No-one is forcing you! Ever think maybe its more convenient for... maybe even deliberately AIMED at..... the people who have already invested in the relevant hardware through personal choice?

What about all the competitions where a 980x and Hyper-based RAM are necessary? If you're complaining about the buy-in for this, those competitions must make you twitch with anger!

just looked @ amd forums hardly anybody's got gb mobo and gb gpu with ati.....
and if someone will buy the hardware requirement....they'll be screwed...
if sponsored clockers can enter like gigabust..then regular clocker won't have a chance to win that awesome grand price

the rules doesn't cover that which is kinda ok for cheaters... its specifically gb ati gpu imo though...
I only extend that to reference design. Gigabyte didnt do anything special with it... neither did Asus, XFX, MSI, Powercolor, Sapphire etc etc.
Matrix, Lightning, FTW, Sonic etc etc... should be untouched
