What kind of voltage do you need to achieve 1Ghz stability? I'm at 1.087 and the stabilist(sp?) OC I can get is 920/1101/1840...I really wanna achieve the mythical 1Ghz.

Going over 1.1v on the GTX460 without at least very good 3rd party cooling isn't a good idea. If you want to push that far I'd also advise looking into the procedure of removing the IHS nVidia slap over their GPUs. They're complete turd.

    You'll need water for 1Ghz

Bah, don't really like playing with water. I happy with the 920 I guess. hopefully I can sell some of my organs for a second MSI Cyclone for SLI.

Its well worth removing the IHS if you can. Even if you don't gain much MHz out the core you will get lower temps, which is always a good thing.

Difference between 810 core and 875 core: 4.34FPS

Yup, thats pretty much smack on what I was saying of a 5FPS increase.
Sorry for taking too long.. but here with 38 degrees ambient.. is only beach time.. not answering BS posts like yours.. anyway.

you make me laugh each time i read your desperate BS... trying to still convince the ppl they read this "conflict", that you 're mrRight...

the only difference is that this time.. you got pwned by your own... post... (saved the pictures just in case you remove them..)

as you also can(??) see going from 810mhz to 875mhz (8% gpu increase) you get.. a mere of 3.6% fps increase.. or in absolute numbers.. 1.17fps. PWN No1.

Even "ROCKS" know that an idiot who runs crysis test only 1 loop will have drop outs in fps while hdd is loading, or even because of inadequate cpu to process physics/explosion(2).Tip.. try to run crysis bench 3loops for example to see in 3rd loop, if you have constant/same results with 2nd loop(avg and min obviously). Also from your incoherent increase in average fps versus gpu increase, reveals that you -might- have a weak cpu to assist this 460..

so this time that 120% you won't resist to reply with BS.. (as i said.. ,the idiot.. insists on..) post screenshots with 3-4 loop runs results... and stop trying to be "smart ass".. cause while im almost sure for the latter.. im not quite sure(the opposite in fact) for the 1st...

Dude... Mhz % is obviously different but he's on about the FPS % which 25% of 21.81FPS to the simplest figure is 5FPS and the new FPS aver = 26.15 which just under 5FPS increase thus = 25% increase.

Stop trying to be overly complicated!

Man seriously... do you read carefully or what...? maybe im overly thorough... hoping he may got some enlightment somehow.. but your post reveals what i was afraid of... he finaly succeded to mislead the ppl(and you) as i initially posted... what 25% are you talking...? he masked his BS argument behind the instantaneous drops out of minimum fps... which most of the time (unless as i said again b4 is CPU inefficiency) happen due to HDD activity... at 1st loop (and sometimes even at 2nd loop - that's why crysis bench if you want to make accurate comparisons you run it 3 times least.).
PS1> you talk about average FPS and in fact is MINIMUM...
PS2> average fps dif.. is (33.3-32.13)/32.13=....~+3.6%... if you interpet that as a PRETY BIG Increase... then im Galileo confessing.. "Earth Doesnt rotate"
PS3> as for your quote at post 24... i really wonder.. who got pwned again...
PS4> There is still hope... by not replying.. that he finally admitted (even to himself only..) he got wrong this time..

    Update.
The first result is a little flawed i think, although i didn't saw any artefacts, the result may be was a little altered. The score it's much higher at 1.075v compared to 1.025v.
I bumped a little the cpu( which is on stock cooler) from 3.6ghz to 4.1 also seems to boost very much the score although there are just 500Mhz difference from firs run.
Still i think that i am little limited by just 1gb memory( in 2-3 weeks a 4gb kit is coming).
    So the new numbers:
    • Brand: Gigabyte OC
    • Stock GPU: 715Mhz
    • OC GPU: 900 MHz
    • Stock vRAM speed :900Mhz
    • OC vRAM speed: 1125Mhz
    • Stock GPU Voltage: 0.987v
    • OC GPU Voltage: 1.075v

Very nice indeed another 900MHz romper on the GPU. I'm really going to have to remove the IHS on my 460.. I want 900MHz too

I own a Gainward "Golden Sample" GTX460 that is able to overclock to 930/1860/2340 using MSI Afterburner and 1.087 voltage. It is not stable enough to run Furmark or Kombuster, but for less demanding benchmarks like Unigine 2.1 it only shows small artifacts and the score is quite good.

I have ordered another one, just to see how well it will perform when running in SLI. Here is a picture of my score running Unigine 2.1 and another one from Hardwarecanucks, the reason to why I ran the benchmark - to compare mine against other graphics cards. I think my score is damn good compared to an overclocked GTX470 - using the same settings and with similar test setup.

That is a excellent result indeed! I bet 1.125v would probably be enough to get 930 stable I must admit my epeen is beginning to shrink currently "only" being able to do 880MHz @ 1.1v

Are you referring to the result or the cards stability? The result is totally comparable to that of Hardwarecanucks - the settings are the same.

    People have asked about the 460, but nobody has realy tried it yet AFAIK. Heres a pic of a uncapped GTX480 if it helps any;
