    Exclamation Fermi BIOS Editor

Maybe somebody will have more luck than I am having. There exists a BIOS editor called Fermi BIOS Editor, made by somebody who goes by the name orbmu2k. I've googled for hours trying to find a download link for this but can't find any. This utility kicks the crap out of nibitor both in its functionality and layout, nevermind the fact you won't be quoted the rediculous "donation" fee of $25 if you want to try a version of nibitor that supposedly works with Fermi cards.

Screenshot of FBE to prove it DOES exist :

So, I pass this misson to all XSer's willing to help in the search for the ellusive Fermi BIOS Editor. If you find it, upload it for others to use or give us a link!

If you don't have the program yourself, nor NiBiToR for fermi, how can you judge which one's better ? Not to mention the "kicks the crap out" expression ?
TBH I see nothing special in this tool, what's so special about it ? The things you can do with this tool and NiBiToR can be done easily with a hex edit too.

FBE is much more convenient. Its also superior because its a new tool and hasn't relied on the same engine for what, 5 years? The nibitor engine is very old and unflexible. For example, compare it to RBE, RBE allows for a lot of changes still even if it doesn't recognise a BIOS specifically.

AFAIK FBE will not be released to public and NiBiTor will have Fermi support soon.

If you want to contact orbmu2k, you could try his blog http://blog.orbmu2k.de/

That makes absolutely no sense. I've tried a few things, we'll see what happens FBE is a new infinately useful tool to Fermi owners and it won't be released? 99% of people know what P-states are and what they do and how to edit vBIOSes. In the case of those who don't know what their doing, well thats THEIR fault for messing with what they don't understand and borking their card, isn't it?

Send a little pm to Hipro, he modded the 480 and did the cold slow mod in the bios, ask him what he used and if he's willing to share or not. No harm in asking.

Ket, why are you pushing so much? If a guy doesn't want to share it, leave it alone. Make yourself BIOS editor.

He will never release it to anyone he doesn't trust. If you want anything done to a bios, send it to him and he'll customize it for you.

Nibitor 5.6 doesn't even work with GTX470/480 BIOSes even though it claims to support them. I tried 3 different GTX470 and a GTX480 BIOS with it.

Yes.. because I, or anyone else for that matter, is going to trust somebody else to edit something as important as their vBIOS

    It doesn't. There's some support for 470's and 480's but not 460's.

    But here you go anyways..

Gives us something to mess with. I'll test to see if it works with 470/480 BIOSes in a 64bit OS, thats one of the other complaints with nibitor. I guess the old engine it uses is becoming a problem, its pretty ancient.

ED - not much change for people on 64bit OSes, nibitor opened a GTX470 BIOS, but nothing was editable.

I have Fermi bios editor, but cannot share, if the author won't.
PM your BIOS and i'll edit it for you with the settings you want.

Thanks very much but kevinkt has edited one for me Out of curiosity, why isn't anybody allowed to share this Fermi BIOS Editor? Making a utility like that and not letting (at least) the skilled to have it more or less completely negates the point in the creation of it

    Not nagging, just wondering.

    +1

Everyone knows that if they brick their hardware they only have themselves to blame.

Seems weird that he will edit the BIOS for people, he must have a lot of time on his hands.

Sounds like a really usefl tool too

I ask about it because confusion is very easy to happen when modding a lot of BIOSes. Kevinkt kindly offered to edit a vBIOS for me, I guessed he grabbed my vBIOS from one of the other threads but I opened it up with a hex editor to be sure, he had given me a GTX480 vBIOS for my GTX460! Good job I did double check! Things like this are very easy to happen and INCREASE the risk of people bricking their cards if a mistak is made such as the wrong modded vBIOS being given to the wrong person. This would never happen if the user had the tool themselves
