    Q9550 on X48-DQ6 O/C Help!

    Hello guys,

My Q9550 E0 was running @ 3400 with no problems , but before some days it has started to be very unstable especially while i was playing WoW. So i decided to overclock him from the beginning.

    My rig is:
    Q9550 E0
    X48-DQ6
    4x1GB Corsair XMS2 800Mhz 5-5-5-18
    OCZ GXS 600W
    Asus 5850

Please give me some settings to try!
    Thanks

    try with 2x1 ram
i had many problems with that board and 4x1
you gonna need 1.6v+ on nb to run 4x1
if you can get a gigabut ud3p or ud3r you be much better off and do 4.0++ with 4x1 ram

    maximus IV extreme gtx580
    gigabut p67-ud7
    p67 sabertooth
    2500k+2600k
    antec 1200watt
    EVGA classified 760
    920 Batch# 3849B018 4.985ghz@1.52v gtx285 ftw sli
    OCZ3RPR1866LV6GK hypers
    dfi ut p35 rampage extreme
    gigabut p35c-ds3r bios suks
    gigabut x38-d6q dead thank god

dN- , i have already sold the motherboard, so i dont have the settings in hand, as i had told you some time ago in other forum, i used 400fsb, +0.025 mch(the minimum available- if u leave it at AUTO it sets +0.2volt actually keep this in mind), +0.05 vDDR (here u may or may not achieve the 1066mhz), all other voltage settings at normal, and 2.66D divider for ram., memory enhance at TURBO/PL6, if you cant reach 1066 speeds then you should try the 2.4B divider which is also a very stable divider and gives 960mhz ram, but ull have to increase PL (Static Read Delay [tRD]) to 7 (as long as u use CL=5)

Last but not least, u may spend some time re-positioning the dimms in slots, finding the best place for each one, its a so much time consuming process and a bit complicated, but u may follow a different approach.. find max o/c for each stick, always place them in same slot (the closest to cpu) and "sort" them from best to worst.. place the best in slot closest to cpu, the next best in the 2nd closest.. etc,,

    Thank you papatsonis.

I'll try your settings using 1:1 (800mhz) for DDR. I know it's difficult to overclock with 4 dimms but i wanna achieve 3400 at least. I don't believe that it can go further (4Ghz etc.)
