    GPU MG-1 Fatso Edition

This project started with Ø80X100mm round bar full cooper and 4.7kilo, ended with 3kilo. I tried not to copy anyone gpu pot design (every good simple design I made looks in a way something like one of kingpin older tubes ). This is easy to insulate and I will post some results next week i hope, with 275GTX Lighting.

    I think I like

If the mounting mechanism was slightly different, it would be much more versatile

Looking forward to seeing its performance. Please can you record pot base temps at idle and load for us? In some ways it means more than MHz

Nice job, this gpu pot looks capable! Seems to have a good combination of surface area/mass for stable easy to manage temperatures. Respect for not just doing something that is already done because it's popular Be proud!

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback.

The mounting mechanism design was simple and standard but in the heat of milling the cooper i forgot to make one ...
So i decided to temporary use one ghetto modification with two mounting plates from a hdd stabilizer, not very professional but is doing the job and that's all I want. Meanwhile I've shortened them.

Hehe looks good! The real ghetto way would be to just use a G clamp though Great work so far, but when are we going to see results ZM??

    Awesome job!

I only hope you don't get your memory coldbugged since the pot sits very close the PCB. It would be wise to add some height to the contact area thus moving the pot further away from the memory ICs.

    Best Regards,
    Niko

Actually after a wild insulation - during the LN2 sesion my memory get warm at 2.18V, in just two test in 3DMark01 I managed to run them above 1400Mhz. I do not have too much LN2 for a long session and my target was only 3DMark01 but I am happy to see slow swing at high loads in Nature test, with my pot empty at -140C the temp jump only 2 degrees until the end of the test. I am satisfied with that. Video card does not overclocked too much, I won this Lighting 275 after a msi contest so I had no great expectations from this, It was pre-tested at MOA2009 I think.

For this session I built a small memory cooler, pictures below.
