    Leaked GeForce GTS-450 PCB Blueprint

A PCinlife member has got hold of two diagrams which are claimed to be of the PCB of NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce GTS 450. The GeForce GTS 450 is based on GF106, which marks a return to a square die for NVIDIA. The proportion of the PCB is very similar to the HD 5700 series, though the GF106 die does seem a lot bigger than Juniper - but this is no surprise. The GTS 450 contains 3+1 phase power, and a 6-pin power connector, which suggests the TDP is well below 150W.

I just can't get excited about a card that will likely overlap two generations of previous cards that are still on the market. DX11 support is nice, but it probably won't have the power to handle much of those features. Still, it's probably going to be hecka cheap and be a nice SLI option for some.

They traced it out on the PCB diagram; it's in the top-right corner. The pair of three vertical lines of circles is the power leads, the two circles on the right is to secure the plastic connector to the card.

Depending on clocks this part will likely fall somewhere between the Redwood and Juniper for performance.

Reports of the gf104 are as high as 367mm2. Using the maximum size of the gf104 for a base the gf106 could be larger than 200mm2 (Wag is gf106 256 cuda cores 128bit mc vs gf104 384 cuda cores and 256bit mc)

die size of the gf104 reported as 367mm2 here http://www.semiaccurate.com/2010/07/...-has-huge-die/
We can now tell you about GF104 die, it is 24.9mm x 14.7mm, and the die size is 367mm^2. (Note: The dimensions are rounded to one significant digit after the decimal point, they are a hair larger so multiplying those rounded numbers gets you 366mm^2. This is not an error, the 367 number is correct, some mad scientists directly measured the die.)

actually no there is a six pin power connection point in the upper right corner oriented for a power connection on the right side.

The 5770 is a great bang for your buck card even at 1900x1200. Nvidia can use card like this. Not everyone needs/wants a high performance card.

Maybe in the US you can get cheap 4890s everywhere but overhere you cant.

4870s wil probably end up cheaper and faster then the 450GTS (until ofc all of them will b gone) but dont forget the advertising.

    The 450 wil b DX11 where the 260GTX and 4870 arent.

But it uses more power and dumps more heat. Also I will take CF 5770 over CF 4890's any day.

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

not really, gts250 cards cost around 99$, and looking at the gpu size and diameters and pins... my guess is that its 4 blocks ie 192 shader cores and half of a gf104... a 460 1gb is only 33% faster than a gts250, so if im right, this should be slower than a gts250, and it will cost 50$+ more... you get dx11, but whats the point really, especially on such a rather entry level card for these days? it will probably overclock beyond gts250 speeds, maybe up to gtx260 speeds... which is nice... but then again, for 150$+ thats not really all that amazing...

anyways, im kinda confused as to why nvidia called both the 1gb and 768mb versions of the 336 shader gf104 460s... i thought the latter would be the gts450... this card here is for gf106, but i thought the 450 would be based on gf104?
so isnt this the gt440 or 430 or something like that?

no way gts 450 will be slower than gts 250. multibillion dollar companies dont get that way being retarded.
