Oil Sep : AB oil freezing temp

    Specs:
Lowest zero load temp: maybe -85c/-88c but not for long and that temp will be in a 10 plate HX flowing fast
Running idle temp -76c or so
    Load temp -68c to -74c
    Metering TXV 01 orifice
    Gas Ethane r170

Can I get by skipping the oil sep under the scenario above?

I really dont want to spend $154 on a floated Temprite 900 series oil sep and i dont want to use a cheap manual one...

Does the AB oil spec. sheet mention a freezing temp?

But I'm guessing that at -76* C idle, you would be cutting it close...

Why not use a simple home-build oil sep just to be sure?

Because of this i would say that a oil sep is not needed, for that range of temps.

Nature of the beast. Sometimes it's more that the temperature at -70C is going to be in the highside of the second stage, and you get freezing in the HX or captube, and not necesarily in the evaporator.
