    12MP+ digital camera?

    Hi all,

I'm after a digital camera. Doesn't have to be too special beyond a) a high resolution (12MP minimum) and b) reliable and likely to last a while. I'm looking into this - http://ubuyhardware.com/p~p-18485670...---Silver.aspx - do you guys think it'd be appropriate? Any suggestions of an alternative?

    Thanks in advance!

    Folded optics
    Tiny noisy 14MP sensor
    No lens protection

Waterproof - yay but is it worth the tradeoffs? In my book thats a rather specialized camera.

If you wan't REAL high resolution in a compact i'd look towards the Canon S90 or the new Panasonic LX5.

Are you printing at 24x36 or something? Even then, a good 10MP will suffice. Why do you feel you need 12MPs, do you just need moar MPs? Point and shoots have really tiny sensors so cramming that many pixels onto one is just asking for ridiculous noise levels with any decently high ISO.
