    Looking for screws...

    I'm going to be doing final assembly on my system next week and am looking for screws that are a little longer than the mounting screws provided with the TFC Xchanger 360 radiators. The components are as follows:

    Fan Grill -> Fan Filter -> MM Ascension Case -> GT1800 fan -> Xchanger Radiator.

    I'd like to use hex head screws.. the screws provided with the TFC are Philips head and aren't very "solid". Obviously I need the screws to be short enough NOT to puncture the radiators.

    Any suggestions? I'm not exactly sure what kind of screws the TFC's (size wise).

    thanks.

    I believe the size you need is M3 X .50 Pitch(My HWLabs required M4 X .70 Pitch). The length will probably be about 29-30mm but that you will have to test that out. You may not be able to find the exact length you need. What I had to do is buy longer screws (50mm for me 38mm Fans) and cut them off with a dremel. I put the screw through the fan grill then through the fan and tightened it down with a nut once the screw was through the entire thing. I then used the dremel to cut the screw off flush against the nut therefore only leaving a couple mm's to thread into the Rad once dissembled.

    *******EDIT********* FESER RADS USE M3 according to fellow members

    M3 x 35mm allen head ? Buy them from Ebay

    Depends on thickness of everything else tbh

    Fan = 25mm
    case = 2mmm
    guard = 2mm
    filter = 2mm (depends on type obviously)
    to get teeth into rad = ~2-3mm

    Feser rads use m3 x.5 mm screws . As Bex said add up the thickness of your parts plus 2 or 3 mm for the rad . If you are in the US go to ace hardware or dg hardware . They have an amazing selection of mm screws , bolts and nuts .
    If they don't have them this place is the bomb for anything : http://www.mcmaster.com/#cap-screws/=7vh1bg

    Fast fast fast, had mine within two days. Carries a nice selection of black oxide screws as well for a nice touch.

    The specific screw that you will need is:

    As 24 mm length screw is what shipps with Feser, the 25 mm should not make a difference, plenty of clearance above the fins. (EDIT: Ooops, my minor in math did not help me here.... 30 mm screws right here: http://www.fastener-express.com/inde...D&ProdID=30190

    Well I'm confused.. I bought 3x.5x30mm screws and they were too short... the end of the screw just came up flush with the far side hole of the fan.. looks like I need about 40mm screws.. which I can't seem to find.. anyone have a source in the US? Looking for Black Oxide, 3 x .5 x 40mm Socket Head.

    Thanks.

    Quick Google search turned up this.. Not sure what pitch they are though. You may need to do some digging around or call them.

    Are these the ones you got?

    If so, you got raped. Mcmaster has the same thing for almost half the price, just search for "91290A136" (sans quotes).
