Well I'm anti-theist... so I'm actively against prayer. But I do hope everything goes well and you're dad turns out A okay.
This cosmic dance of bursting decadence and withheld permissions, twists all our arms collectively, but if sweetness can win, and it can, then I'll still be here tomorrow to high-five you yesterday, my friend. Peace.

I lost my father 2 years ago to pancreatic cancer. He found out he was sick and three weeks later he had passed. I will say a prayer for your dad. Hopefully he kicks what my father couldn't. Hang in there.

Thanks yall! They went ahead and sent him home today. and scheduled the whipple procedure for July 20th. the good news is he was assigned the top pancreatic cancer surgeon at MUSC, and their schedule is pretty booked.. that's why we have to wait until July 20th. until then he's on bed rest and keep his strength up. when he goes in for surgery it will be a 3 week min stay. 4-5 days in ICU, then 2 weeks post op before they will let him go. so for now we are just keeping our fingers crossed, and am thankful to have the top pancreatic surgeon on the case. once the surgeon gets in there, they will know more on how far it has progressed. unfortunately, none of the mri's, ulrtrasounds, or biopsies they did this past week while he was inpatient were conclusive as to how far it's spread. the only thing they know now is he has a 4cm mass at the head of the pancreas confirmed by the mri and a cancer marker lab of 200 (normal is around 20). so the next step is surgery to remove the tumor, and treatment. as these things usually go, it's a long process.

Good news on my Dad (Roy). He made it through the whipple procedure and they removed the 4cm pancreas tumor on Monday July 19th. He'll be inpatient for about two weeks recovering. The pathologists talked to us yesterday and from all indication the tumor was benign. But they wont know for sure until after he's healed and keeps testing in the upcoming months. but for now it's great news and he should be home within about 2 weeks. The tumor was pushing on the duodenum, which was causing a gastric blockage. Now that it's gone, he has started eating again. He's not completely out of the woods yet, but it looks very positive.

Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers.
    Mike.
