    GTX480 touches EK Classified waterblock

I have EVGA Classified 141-BL-760-A1 and bought myself 2 x GTX480. Now here's the problem, the 1st GTX480 touches the EK motherboard waterblock and doesn't click in.
Eddy from EK told me i'm the 1st that has this problem, was wondering if i'm really the only one with this issue

My cards are from Gigabyte but don't think that will be the issue because all are reference design.
Will take pic later this evening, have to go to work now.

I have kinda the same problem with my twin 285GTX (rev2, BFG) on a EVGA 760, with all EK blocks. It happens to the card nearer the CPU socket - the bottom of its waterblock touches the motherboard block. It's very very close though and by pushing hard enough / flexing things a bit i could click it. Both waterblocks definitely are in contact.

I thought this was only an issue with some of the first 762 blocks that came out ?

To add, Im using the EK WB on my 4way with 2 480's in SLI and I have no problems.

A pic would help. Is the chipset block seated correctly ?

Try screwing the MB block down more?

I had a similar problem, with another board, and that solved it.

Don't be too hard on the SB screws, they don't have standoffs as the holes are too close to SB chip. Careful!

I actually put standoffs around the SB, as i have a 760 i dont have the NF200 chip to cool down. I think it's all due to the slight flex of the board at this place (around the center), also note that on the 760 you cant access the center MB screw anymore (the one that goes on case standoff) as the waterblock goes over the hole. I'm sure it makes proper contact with the NB as the temperatures are excellent.

With the MB mounted in the case and pushing hard on the graphics card (and wiggling a little bit) i could have it click but it's very very close (as i said, the 285 rev2 block still touches the 760 full cover block) - and definitely not for faint hearted ! I'll try to post a picture if i can.

Possible. File the darn thing, take 15/000 off or so, you'll be fine. It's the outside of the block. Make it fit. You probably could shift the mobo block 15 to 30 thousands away from the GPU block. Make it work, you know you can.........

    Non issue IMHO.
All stock for now, no need for more, but it's gonna be soon methinks.

Well in my case, i made it fit my rig has been operational for a few months already... I just said it's very tight and long cards actually touch the motherboard block as the OP posted about.

You pay +-115 euro for a wc block that doesn't fit and you want us to make it fit?
    No way!

I have just bought myself a nice evga x58 classified 760 board, but I won't buy this block ...
I'd rather spend 140 euro's on a block that does fit.
The solution could be simple, but if I spend that amount of money on something, I expect it to work without the need of modding.

It looks like it fits. Does card work? Does it fall out by itself?

The card fits and works without any issue's but i don't know if the card will stay put if i move the pc to a lanparty or so, that is my biggest concern.

There seems to be a black object seating right below the catch. Could that be the problem???

All classified blocks have grooves in that area, except for the 4-way sli block.

Only the 4-way sli moboblock has grooves, 3-way have no grooves!

    Classified: http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/u...ed-Ac%2BNi.jpg

    Classified 4-way sli: http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/u.../New-Image.jpg

These images come from EK's coolingconfigurator. However, when looking on the site of EK, the 4-way sli has indeed grooves designed for the cards. So the images don't match up. Eddy, you might want to update the image of the Coolingconfigurator . Btw, the reason I though the classified had grooves was because I was looking at the carvings in the Classified, not the grooves designed for the pci-e cards.
