I thought "Football" was Rugby or the NFL?

    All kidding aside, thank you.

Well, Ghana is no slouch - they demonstrated that already. Good defense and some dangerous offensive talent as well.
    I'll be watching on Saturday

I just have one question though. Why would you even want to call a sport that is mostly played with the hands football? If you can explain that to me I'll maybe start calling football soccer. Nah actually I wont.

Holland is playing tonight, but doesn't even have to win this one anymore. But wheter or not it is better to end firts or second in the group remains to be seen. they will probably play Italy when first, and that has always been a difficult opponent because of the very defensive style of play.

Holland vs. Italy is about the only scenario where I'd root for Holland, though

There's no need to hate on Holland, all they do is play attractive attacking football, and they mostly lose doing it. Germany is quite the opposite.

I'm not hating Holland - just won't root for them either, much like you probably won't root for Germany
And yes, our currently available offensive players aren't among the best ones internationally. But we still scored two more goals than Holland did

Well, right now, Argentina would probably beat Germany, not much doubt about it. Thankfully Germany has a history of getting better the further they advance
England is currently in a pretty bad shape, from what I've seen, they will probably loose on Sunday.

@petra: did not undestand if you meant rugby or nfl..
a quick google search provided me this:

Handegg, or "gridiron football" is a sport activity only played by Americans because of cultural OBLIGATION having invented it, no choice.

why? because the sport was original called "rugby football" and soccer was "association football." soccer was a slang abreviation of association that likely started in england. just about any game played on foot (and therefore not upper class like polo) was football.

so like the "standard" system of measurement its all england's royalty's fault

but it was a great ending
