I have to say..Evga has been great to me in my RMA's..i havent needed to use an RMA since my 7800gt but i volt modded it/changed bios/heatsink the whole 9 and returned(2) over the period of time and they didn't ask a single question..sent in got another in return ..changed bios/over volted and clocked it and used it til it died and replaced it again..then finally sold it and moved up.
So i can say every time i used them i had a good experience..just saying...

That's insane, glad i never used, XFX i'm gonna have to take some pics of my card now i guess..........funny no? You'd think if he did leave that "residue" you wouldn't be stupid enough to leave it when sending it in for RMA, also when i see people modding don't they solder on little electronic pieces? Or connect two contact points? Not just leave a bit of jizz on the card
Cause you live by the bay you lucky dog!

I have nothing but good things to say about XFX and the guys at tech support. Last year I bought a used and problematic XFX 9800GT 512mb and will never regret it. First they sent me a replacement cooler. Then months later when I realized the gpu was overheating/volting my mobo, I RMA'd it and recieved a HD 5750 1gb in return. They could have easily found a reason to deny my RMA, but they didn't.
Has anyone mentioned that XFX is 'aftermarket cooler friendly' ? Whether he took the card apart or not is not an issue. But chances are he did. The dude admits to modding a HD 5450 and WC'ing GTX 480's. Am I really expected to believe he left the HD 5870 alone ?! lolz
Erik, Brian and XFX deserve an apology from all you trolls ! Especially from the guy that started this thread ! lol ..
Peace

The last XFX card I had died. It took them over a month from the day I sent them the card (they received it 3 days later), till the time I got a replacement card in. I called them 2 weeks later and they still had not sent it out yet.

This really makes me sad.
XFX is suposed to be one of the better ATI companies.
Trust me, its a lot better then Power Color, or Saphire when it comes with RMA's.
But if XFX if doing this to you, i dont think i can really trust a ATI card now unless its from MSI or ASUS.

Living here in the UK we don't have the infamous double warranty for a start and can honestly say I've never dealt with a poorer company on the customer support front than XFX.
Heres my experience:
7800GTX XFX - Died after 5 months - had to be returned to manufacturer by supplier - I couldn't wait that long and ended up with a 8800GT from the supplier - thanks to the supplier here.
This year (sure I posted here on this forum) My Mainboard's ATX Power socket was melted by a dodge connector on a XFX 650W XXX PSU. Mainboard went to one supplier - who refunded me the cost of purchase within a month no questions asked.
The PSU however the other supplier insisted had to go back to XFX as it was company policy that any XFX product older than 30days had to be RTM. They then insisted I get in touch with XFX (after a month) as they wern't getting anywhere with them either!
Anyways - I got in touch with XFX to see what they were going to compensate me with for the hassle (I ended up buying a new mainboard and PSU) - They didn't give one flying toss about it and refused to admit ANY liability.
After 2 months I finally got a refund out of the supplier (albiet not to the value I paid). The supplier stated that they would not recommend XFX products as EVERY other product they can replace on the spot (within 12month period) but not XFX after 30 days!!!.
I currently have two XFX 5850BE's - I pray that our lord protects them lol! Needless to say I won't be touching XFX with someone elses pole let alone anything I have
Oh - And the first supplier I mentioned who refunded the mainboard started a thread on their forums about XFX and needless to say they dropped them as suppliers too!!!

Your 'lord', like your buying habits and story are very questionable. Plz do not bring your, not mine or our, 'lord' into this. If they are as bad as you say they are, then why do you keep buying their products ?
As I said in my previous post, they could have very easily denied my RMA. You were turned down for a reason.
Your confidence and opinion is so easily swayed because ... ? How are they running ? Temps ?
As long as you register them and do not break the warranty agreement, you have nothing to worry about.

I completely agree heh... because that is true about any interaction you may have with any company or establishment. Having personally dealt with the XFX tech(s) in question, I am most confident "NCspecV81" and "zoomee" got what they deserve. Both stories just do not add up lol .. Peace
p.s.
Admits to modding a 5450 ect.. Do you really think he left the 5870 untouched ?
Yes, I believe he left the 5870 untouched. If he modded it, I don't believe he would actually make such a big fuss about it.
At this point, I just think YOU are the one trolling, maybe reimbursed by XFX themselves, thats just my opinion.
I have extremely good experience with EVGA rma/stepup ( USA ), Asus taiwan RMA, and gigabyte taiwan rma especially. 4870 - 5830 as they did not have any left in stock. My oh my, what a huge difference.
