What PSU, or PSUs, do I need to run 4 HD5870s at 1025/1325?

    Hi All,

I've been tring to break my personal best 3DMark06 Score by using 4 HD5870s clocked at 1025/1325.

However when the system is running the i7 930 CPU at 222x21 or higher the benchmark will freeze in Canyon Flight somewhere between 30-45 second mark.

This is where my Kill-a-Watt is showing the system is drawing almost 1150 watts. This leads me to believe the lockup is caused by insufficient PSU power.

I am using a Corsair HX1000 to power the system and 2 of the VGUs and the other 2 are being powered by a Corsair TX750.

    What do you guys think?

And what PSU's do you recommend?

    Thanx,

    Alan

Does the lock up happen when the backup is being used? Its a bit confusing. If it happens with one psu, but the extra psu eliminates it, then its a psu problem. The corsair ax1200 is the best psu so far though antec might have something interesting coming as well, and its coming out in early july http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php...Story&reid=189, also the silverstone 1500w and the enermax evo 1250 are both great units and were the two best choices before the ax1200.

Doesn't really look like a PSU issue to me, just hardware clocked too far with not enough volts.
