Where do we start? How about something more shocking to ease the sticker shock.

Yeah.. haters are definitely gonna hate and rightly so. The UD9 is a beastly board, I think we can all agree on that. Unfortunately it is currently priced at a few bills short of a i7 980x. For $700 you can get a lot of cheeseburgers, a decent amount of crazy nights, or an entire computer. Anyways, until the UD9 drops $200 to $300 in price it is hard to recommend it.

    ps.. someone fix EasyTune6, it's a POS

This board is on loan to me so I didn't have much time to actually do anything with it. Life's hard when you work a real job Here's what I was able to do in a few hours in between runs to the grocery store and grabbing dinner.

The cascade. She's getting a bit long in tooth. Hits around -55C through the 3D06 CPU Test

CPU: 980x, forget the batch number. 1.6vcpu(either CPU-Z is reading wrong of the board overvolts like a MFer, too lazy to check), 1.4vtt, 1.7vpll
    RAM: Dominator 2000C7s @ 1.6v
    MB: UD$9
    PSU: Corsair HX1k
OS: fullblown review OS with all the games installed and everything

Just set a few timings in BIOS, set 5.5GHz, and ran through all the benchmarks. I then reran AM3 when I noticed I might have a shot at breaking 400k. I'll actually tweak stuff sometime tomorrow Sadly my LN2 supplier is having a little trouble getting enough juice so no LN2 results for a while

ps - I love the new PCB color.

If you are talking about me then you must be smelling something else. I've got a wedding to attend and I have to move my furniture into another apartment. In fact I should be asleep right now so I don't fall asleep during the ceremony

Is it really worth that much? I mean RoG class boards from ASUS are among the best and they don't cost that much. There are also EVGA Classified class mobos. Also very high end. And there is Gigabyte. Which is always Ultrasomething and usually fails very soon in one or another way... Hm.

I'm not too upset over the price, it's obviously geared towards benchers and people who have the cash to burn. Plus I'm assuming the price will come down at least a bit and that this is an early adopters tax type thing. It is kinda insane the price is greater than the SR2 and quite a few server boards.

If I adjust any voltages it BSOD. It also loads VERY slow, I've seen it take several minutes before it is available. I am happy they finally included hotkeys but they are like a year late to the party.

If the UD9 had eleet, voltage read points, and was a few hundred dollars cheaper then it would be a competitive board(and basically an E762). Like you touched on, there are a lot of competitive boards out there. I like the UD9 but then I look 2 feet to the left and my eyes turn into little hearts when I see the R3E sitting there.

In the end though EVGA had it right with the X58 Classified and everyone else has been playing catchup.

The UD9 and Classified 762 costs about the same in Sweden (~650 USD). F(L)UCKING expensive, as George would say!

Yes, I miss these. It`s hard to understand, why much cheaper boards like the Flaming Blade GTI (~160 US-$ in Germany) or the P55-GD65 (~145 US-$ in Germany - sure, another socket, but you get the idea) provide it and the UD9 for over 600 US-$ (converted) doesnīt, especially if itīs build for overclocking.
