yup and that 1.1 figure is pretty damned close to what I'm seeing and it's getting essentiall all that it's claiming but it isn't claiming much..
app 12 points per hour per core..
Needs speed badly..
At 3000mhz we'd be looking at app 65KPPD
It's "keepable" the way it is.
I have a totalof $530.00 into it at this point and $530.00 for a 52K/day machine is a good investment.
I will need to buy some more DDR3-1333 ECC as I robbed 8 sticks from my SM Westmere machine to test this so call it a $830.00 52K machine..Still decent.

thats too bad, i will try to check out every possible tweak this summer when i get my i7 875k(buying it tommorow) and i might give away my i3 530 to a felloow cruncher and get a amd based cruncher and use those tweak i found with the i7 875k and see if it could possibly be get the same ppd/mhz/core ratio.

Ah, it's Dave teasing us with his new toys again! So instead of just him staying awake during the night a dozen of people will loose sleep as well!

Hmmm, at this rate I may just need to take out a student loan and say see you Sunday
Pity it'll take at least six weeks to get a visa. Does your offer still apply if I come as a stowaway? I'll tell you what. One day in the not-too-distant future I plan to come up there to meet a few of you. If I stop through at your place on the way may I please touch it? Actually, a greater honour would be to have you crunch in my name for a few hours

You'd get bored after 2-3 days..
They are machines. The "thrill" if any is in seeing how the new platforms function and their higher capabilities over the previous generation.
Once you've seen and gotten used to that the interest is gone and they just work.
Back in 2007 I remember being "thrilled" at the new Harpertowns and what they would do vs the previous Clovertowns.
Had two in my office the past 3 years that I just took down and outside of cleaning the fans every 6 months I never used them.
They just worked.
I don't game, don't do much encoding anymore so all they do is work and for that they don't need me..
I have two things that interest me right now:
1) Seeing if this dual MC rig will OC in any way
2) Running the SR2 rig up to 5000mhz..
One I think will happen, the other I don't..
I'll let you figure out which is which..

More hardware goodness!
Can't wait for Dave to run out of space in his apartment available for hardware!
These are B1's, the others were B0's and so close it's not even funny.
A little bit better IMC on the B1's but God's truth for this work almost identical.
I only sold the B0's because there was a certain guy that seemed like a good guy but was going to burst and explode if he didn't get some good 6 cores.
These I didn't even hear about till the day after I sold the others.
I've had a pair of E5640 quads in the SR2 rig for the last week as placeholders..Not bad, but not like the 5680's

So what do you think. Is there a solution for getting more speed or is the chance close to zero?
50k a day is a dissapointment, for 24 real cores. BUT it would indeed be good to know at what power draw this is happening. <200w / 250w?

as soon as the egg delivers my new kill a watt I'll let you know.
The MC is a nice system, yea, smoothe.. and it is.
Just needs speed to be more effective.
With the top 6176HE's I think it would do maybe 65,000PPD in WCG at default 2300mhz.
Remember mine are the 3rd ones down, the 6168 1900mhz chips.
39C at 100% load..
It's 4:30am here, time for bed..
Night guys..You too sam!..

No SHEET! How do you think I feel.
Spent 1/2 the night trying to find the PLL controller, trying every OC'ing app that exists and banging my head against the wall..
Now can I please get some sleep?
and they won't go up 60-80%..
Max HTT might be 250 and thats 2375mhz..
I'll settle for that if I have to water cool it BUT need to figure out how to access it.
Now..GOOD NIGHT!
