    Gigabyte UD7 i7 980x Gigabyte GTX480 benching

Had a great night last night, was over the moon to find out that my cpu didnt have a cold bug when benching all 6 cores, made the night so much easier for pouring ln2.
I was scatter benching not spending too much time on a particular bench mark.
Picked up the Gtx 480 day prior so havn't really had the time to see what she does. Cant wait to bench again ln2
Frenchlick, uncle fester and TOX also visited. I played with ln2 while frenchlick and uncle fester took control of the cascade

    Test Configuration:
    • Gigabyte X58A UD7
    • Intel Core i7 980X 3003B396
    • Supper Talent DDR3 Ram 3x 2Gb
    • Gigabyte GTX480 on air

Warming up the cpu when it cold bugged going into bios

scores from previous nights benching on ln2 :thumb:

Unfortunately they seem to all clock the same - rather average

    nice work

i saw hipro saying something about retail cpus dying if you use 2 cores and then back to all cores even on his ud7 which is strange as u've done it and chip is ok

we've been using ES on 2 cores no issues

btw for 03 make sure you analyse subtest fps to see where exactly you are losing out.....something was obviously not running optimally

jabski my sig link holds all bios files you need to bench with giga....go crazy

yeah i also read that thread, to be safe i have stopped using 2 cores.
I benched for around 15-20 hours 2 cores before moving onto 6 for 3dmark benching
WHat i did find benching just 2 cores i would cold bug at around -165c, running 6 cores stopped that. SO with some luck i might be able to bench 32m SPI booting 6 cores then set SPI to only use 2 cores

oh yes thats normal kayl the coldbug moves....gets worse in most cases when you bench with two cores only

so for some strange reason your chip is still ok ...you are lucky then man as it seems like a nice chip
