88 pages about HDT coolers (modding, lapping, torture test)

HDT arhitecture was one of the most controversial debate in the world of aircooling. poparamiro took the hotest cpu out there, the nuclear reactor called Nehalem and tried to elucidate the HDT comportament in a wide range of conditions, from fanless to extreme CFM, from 1.0volt to 1.6volts also in comparisson with solid base coolers.

Starring: the best HDT coolers (8 pcs.) + reference solid base coolers (4 pcs) + 2 entry-level watercoolers (Corsair H50 + CoolIT ECO ALC).

You're gonna nead some patience to read all of it !

HDT arhitecture, between dissapointment and miracle | Lab501 Romania (Google translate already included in link)

    Thanks for reading this,

Nice testing, conclusion fits in one short sentence, if you consider Aircooling, buy Noctua NH-D14.

Considering price and the fact theres no way in hell the Hyper 212 Plus was designed to deal with the inferno we all know as Nehalem, you can't help but kinda be impressed with it if you are looking for a cheap very capable cooler based on that review.

You are right about one thing: the 212+ is cheap.

He uses the PK-1 because it spreads real nice and has top notch performance.

Ok, thanks. I've been coming around to the same conclusion about Pk-1 recently.
