[Computex2010] New Corsair mid tower case

Corsair's thinking is a little different, it seems, going by the latest case unveiled at COMPUTEX 2010.

Rather than cheapen the Obsidian brand, Corsair is bringing a new series, dubbed Graphite, to market in the coming months.

The first Graphite chassis will be the 600T, pictured below, and it features a steel body and flared plastic sections in the now-typical Corsair understated style.

Shipping with four 5.25in bays (five are exposed) and up to six 2.5in or 3.5in bays, the bottom section provides intake via a 200mm fan. Hot air is exhausted by a top-mounted 200mm fan and rear-mounted 120mm fan, and the trio are controlled by an integrated fan controller.

Aimed at enthusiasts and gamers in particular, the upper drive-cage can be removed and relocated to enable the fitment of extra-long graphics cards.

Taking a leaf out of the Obsidian book, the Graphite 600T incorporates an extra-large cutout for installing through-the-motherboard coolers, along with eight rubber-covered sections that enable easy cable routing.

As a forward-looking measure, Corsair integrates a USB 3.0 port on the top section, next to the fan controller.

We reckon the Graphite 600T will cost around £120 when launched later this year. Want to know more? Watch Corsair's Jim Carlton talk about it in a HEXUS.tv interview.

Looks like it could be a nice LAN rig! Although I wish they had gone with several 120mm of 140mm fans in the top instead of one huge one to make it easier to mount a rad up there.

Looks very nice though, Corsair has really come out with some nice stuff this year.
    Regards,
    Chris

Looks like the CM Cosmos but I dig the internal cable management friendly design.

I wonder if you could fit a mini-itx board in the backplate access hole...

Jesus H... any more holes in that mobo tray and there wouldn't be anywhere to mount the board to.

But anyway, another ugly case. I'm starting to think only Lian Li and Silverstone can make attractive cases nowadays (honourable mention to Coolermaster for the ATCS 840 aswell).

EDIT: inb4 "Raven is Silverstone and ugly as sin".... i'm talking bout the Temjin series mainly.

EDIT2: Oh wait, just found out the TJ-11 will have a rotated mobo tray ala Raven and FT02. It's just Lian Li that make nice cases nowadays.

Maybe i need to let it sink it but at first glance i don't like the looks of it. Going from the sharp sleek look of the 800 to this.. The rounded look comes off as cheap feeling for some reason.

I think it's a great looking case. I guess you can't please everyone all the time.
As quoted by LowRun......"So, we are one week past AMD's worst case scenario for BD's availability but they don't feel like communicating about the delay, I suppose AMD must be removed from the reliable sources list for AMD's products launch dates"

You actually can do that Rad on the inside and 2 x 120mm fan on the outside.

I like the internal design, but hate some of the external parts. They should get rid of that "Cosmos-ish" design and make is just a solid shape, that would look much cleaner.

I dig the cable management-friendly internal, and the top section looks pretty darned clean.

At 120 pounds, this case sounds like a 180 dollar case. At that price it kind of ugly and expensive for a steel case. The ATCS 840 accepts a triple rad and is all aluminum and is a full tower and is around 200 dollar too. Aside from the wire vents, it doesn't really stick out and it looks like a Coolermaster 690 advanced which has similar features and is half the price.

The cooler master 690 advanced has room for two 240mm radiators, has one hot swappable drive bay and has a very very similar look. Heck it even has some wiring holes, just without the rubber grommets.

You can't really compare GBP with other currency that well, you need to factor in at least distribution and VAT (17.5% here)

probably ends up being $150USD or less.

Yes, I love the internal cable management, I've seen some PCs that were built with the Corsair 800D, and the cable management is incredible!

Unfortunately, I never really liked the Cosmos design. I'd prefer something sharp and industrial like a Lian-Li exterior, with that wonderful 800D/700D interior.

wow. like WTF is this? this thing is ugly as shi....
why not obsidian design? hope to see obsidian in midi version.

also why did they mount that 200mm fan on center of top of the case? why they did not put it on tha back of it? this is pointless.

    The inside is awesome!

    The outside is horrid!

I was hopping for a D800 type case, but much smaller, following that high end look.
