I tried another board, P6X58D Premium without much success compared to my X58A-UD7, so I know my board isn't holding the STT sticks back, it's my CPUs. Since getting a 3845 chip is next to impossible these days, would something like a 960 be a sure thing for a stronger IMC or is it still luck of the draw?

Got a different 920, batch 3949A596, doesn't seem any better than the 3946A172 Why is it so hard to find a chip with a good IMC?!

Using a Corsair CMPSU-1000HX here, but I've pretty much narrowed it down to the boards. For some reason the Gigabyte X58A series needs a lot more VTT. There's a cheap P6T6 WS Revolution on eBay I may snag and dump these Gigabuts

Why pump more VTT into the chip than is necessary? 1.60v is pretty stupid just for DDR3-2000 C8 on the 2:10 divider. That's the kind of volts one should need for doing 2100+! Still trying to figure out why a board with 24-phase power regulation for CPU and 3-phase on the memory is getting burned by a board with 16-phase on the CPU and 2 for the memory. I'd think the UD7 would have better voltage regulation and thus need less juice

    i never needed such voltage
    i need 1.44-1.48 when running 12gigs 2k cas8
i like the digital pwm of the rexIII uses less juice
24 phases dont mean a thing if its a bs phase
