interesting probably just ran out of black pcbs heh

I see.. probably just needs some tweaking
I spent some time testing 2x2GB and then 3x2GB, and the result looks better.
    I can get to 882 6-6-6 1.7v and 1026 7-7-7 1.7v for y-cruncher 500M/super pi 32m.
Actually I did almost no tweaking, R3E auto configured everything, and nothing I tried is helpful except for +12.5mv VREF.

However it becomes much worse when I began to try 6x2GB.
My setup kept to refuse boot/lose channel. Most of the time it did not boot or only boot with one channel(with only Channel C detected; tools like CPU Tweaker even refuse to launch)
At last I chose a random order which can usually boot, and came up with 862 6-6-6 1.7v and 1000 7-7-7 1.7v.

I have read part of your 12GB A-DATA 2000X thread, but still don't understand how to pair/arrange them.
Any rules or hints for pairing/arrangement?
I tend to put the "best" stick in Channel A and "worst" in Channel C.

6x2GB might need much higher cpu vtt and vdimm than 3x2GB, that's what i'm finding with 980X and 6x2GB 2200C8 stuff - pretty much DDR3-1800Mhz and looser timings 8-9-8-x and 9-9-9-x is the limit if i want to keep cpu vtt <1.5v - as i7 980X best to keep below 1.4-1.5v. So probably leave 6x2GB to when i test on bloomfield cpus for 1.55+ cpu vtt. 6x2GB 2200C8 at <DDR3-1700 is okay for CAS6/7 which is expected for 6x2GB unmatched dual channel kit operation.

yes eva2000 6x2 requires alot more cpu vtt
    i'm limiting 24/7 to 1.425

Got my system setup for now.

    Running 8GB @ 1744 6-6-6-18-24-2T.
    1 stick of the SuperTalent 2200 C8 and 3 sticks Corsair GTX2.

The limit is my CPU. Phenom II x2 555 BE (unlocked to quad @ 3.42GHz) and the IMC on the 555. If I had a 965 or a 1090T I would easily be pushing 2000MHz 7-7-7-18.

I did have the speed as high as 1840 6-7-6-18, but I couldn't scale the HT and NB speed so I was taking a performance hit from what I could see.

So far the SuperTalent stick is keeping up with my GTX2's blow for blow. Right now at 1740 6-6-6-18. If I have time tomorrow I will see if they can get CAS5 or maybe try and push the speed up a bit.

You should run 1T for DDR3...it's not nearly as picky as DDR2 and 2T gains no Mhz.

The memory controller will have a workout with 8GB, put only 4GB in and you will see the Super Talent stick fall way behind the other three GTX2.

Yeah seems about the ceiling for these super talent 2000c8 and 2200c8 elpida hyper around 870mhz 6-6-6-x range -/+ 10-20mhz. 900mhz seems just out of reach unless you loosen to 6-7-6-x timings.

Well I will tell you that they don't like CAS5 at all. The GTX2 sticks would post, but when I added the STalents it was a no-go.

Thats the difference. You will also realize that the GTX2's do about 100 (50) Mhz better in CAS 6-6-6 also.

Still, I myself can't complain, these sticks are dirt cheap.

I picked up the Super Talent 6Gig kit of DDR-2000, and it is JUNK.

    1) Their tech support is a joke.
    - Never answer their phones, and when waiting the recorded messages are in Spanish.
    2) Stay away from Super Talent.
