DFI LAN Party Model NFII Ultra B VDIMM mod

Following a request from Iolao I knocked this one up.

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...749#post307749

See the above lengthy thread for more info on the board.

The Vdimm is regulated by a simtech SC2616 the same as used on several other modern boards including the Epox 4PDA2+ rev2.

    http://www.semtech.com/pdf/sc2616.pdf

The successfull mod for 4PDA2+ is detailed here.
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...threadid=23714

So the same pryncipals should apply.

The FB mod is pin1 to ground using 200k VR on 4PDA2+, resistance values may differ on this board so please take your time when turning the pot.

Question is where can you solder onto pin 1 (as this is an MLP package) This is pretty easy as with the excelent pics ive been sent we can easily follow the trace from pin1 to a SMT resistor on the board that we can easily solder onto.

The below mod is UNTESTED and should not be attempted unless you fully understand what you are doing.
I would appreciate if somebody could tripple check that I have got pin1 correct, and that my other logic is sound.

Vcore reg is near the mosfets, on the agp slot and it's labelled HIP6301. Mod is pin7 to ground with 50k pot.

I think its based upon 5v.. so more than 3.3v is possible although not necicaraly safe.

I thought this board had 3.3v vdimm as standard? THe rev b does I know for a fact!

OIC its rev a that has 2.9v:

What about the infinity? AFAIK its only missing RAID and post LEDs from the ultra rev b.

How much can this mod actually go upto? Are mid 3.5's unreasonable without a psu mod?
