Can one of you guys who has used these new EK compression fittings please describe them a bit and explain how and why they're better than bits-power fittings? Thanks.

really like the look of the matte finish on the newest BP series of fittings. but the price on the EK compressions is certainly appealing. I'll have to pick up a few and see how they compare.

    Hi,

Finally we got the tooling to make the 10mm (3/8") ID and 13mm (1/2") OD.
We also changed the surface for better grip and improbved EK logo:

2 things that made me get the EK fittings:

    1) The BP are not matte, they're painted and chip pretty easily. The EK are fully coated and are extremely robust; after redoing my loop a few times they look as good as new.
    2) The BP are double the price of the EK; you're paying for the name only.

Eddy will you have other fittings so people could use all EK instead of having to use BP for some applications?

We need to source out a quality supplier of the angled parts.

Nice fittings eddy! but like DB said I (and many people I'm sure) prefer have all the fittings from one brand instead of mixing BP angle parts + ek fittings for example, that would look weird imo

that's a great point - we don't like having MIXED fittings! It means more work for Eddy, but hopefully the craftsmanship will shine through.

    Those are very nice indeed!

But what about 1/2" ID 3/4" OD, I'd replace my Fesers in a second if you made those...

. . .and consistent plating color on all the different fittings. This is the one thing that irks me a little about Koolance, their 45° have a silver nickel plating while most of the other fittings have a gunmetal nickel color. Sticks out like a sore thumb.

1/2" ID, 3/4 OD will come too.
And I agree with Waterlogged that they must have consistent colors. We will/are using same supplier of plating.
Fittings are made in Slovenia, not in China like pretty much all others.

I'd happily pay more for this.

Glad to hear that you are making a 3/8" fitting... I almost bought the 1/2" ones and double checked to find that they're 1/2", not the 3/8" I was assuming.

Like the other guy said, what is the estimated ship date for the 3/8" fittings?

Thank god! I'm getting sick of seeing companies trying to keep costs down by sourcing the work out to places in China that do sub-par work.

I'd rather pay a little bit more money and have that piece of mine that things will have better craftsmanship then the junk produced in China.

Any pictures of the teeth on the inside of the comps? My one gripe with the BP comps is the near-lack of any grabbing teeth. One area where the KL's definitely come out ahead.

How about the 12mm fittings. Will they have the same design or are you planing on keeping the old design on them as well??
