Any ill effect by slowing pump for H50?

My first H50 pump made ticking/buzzing sound. I haven't tested new one out yet but it seems it's pretty common issue. I came across a thread at SPCR that some people used speedfan to slow the pump to 60% and that noise went away. Given that slowing the pump to 60% cools CPU with good temp, would it have any ill effect such as premature pump fail, pump overheating etc?

    TIA

If it buzzes, replace it which seems like what you have done. I don't know of any long term testing on a pump run at less than spec so you are on your own.

    H50

Running the H50 in my new build and have it hooked up to a
Lamptron 6 channel fan controller running it at max right now.

Running the H50 in push pull with #2 high cfm Scythe fans and going to
test and bench pump voltage or speed as to flow when get a chance.

Some times slowing volume and pressure down will actually cool better
    depending on fan,radiator ect.
Played with this concept pretty heavily in days past in the automotive application.

Corsair probably tested this but max for safety as to problems was
    their thinking.
Try it, but (Monitor Temps) while doing it.

    I'm going to.
