Relax man, he said they're working on it, which is good enough for me at the moment. In fact, I'd much rather they take their time and test it well, so we don't end up with another BIOS like 3107. One look at the ASUS support forums shows everyone bad mouthing that BIOS (with good reason). I wish ASUS would pull that BIOS off the FTP/HTTP sites so people stop using it.

BIOS 3004 is stable as a rock for me, provided I run everything stock. Overclocking is out with 3004 + 1055T, but I can certainly hold on until a new BIOS is released. I mean, who really needs more than a 2.8 Ghz Hex-Core? We all only overclock high-end chips because we can, not because we actually have a need to, lol.

    Yah,

I always like to be sure, this time I can't be. Don't have more Lhe to test with but I think lhe might have been root of most of my issues. To harsh on board. IIRC Board freaked out at one point, probably something damaged then, I think the PWM was running hot as I was more concerned with a glacier effect rather than using a fan on it. 6400+ wprime is pretty harsh to with hexacore as well, IIRC I ran that and then tried high NB and thats when board got upset.

Broke out another prepped board and I will see what happens with only ln2.

Any updated bios being released for M4A785-M?

It has issues with the pstate and throttles the cpu clock under load.

Just a heads up guys. 0903 does not fix NB voltage drop >>>> as i found out here under extreme testing.

I did some testing with the 0903 beta this weekend and I found something that seems a little odd to me....
I was trying to see the best my rig could do with all voltages set to "Auto".
The resulting voltages were 1.425 CPU and 1.35v on the IMC (CPU/NB), this was with LLC on for the CPU and off for the IMC..
The CPU voltage seems a little high (I know this varies from chip to chip), but the IMC seems really high for an auto setting.
I feel the need to answer this again. Just did the testing myself and ended up with:
    13.5*300 = 4050MHz
    9x HT L/NB F = 2700MHz
    LLC on for both
    (idle - load)
    CPU core = 1.435 - 1.485v
    CPU/NB = 1.35 - 1.45

Anything above that gives to low CPU core voltage, but way to high CPU/NB voltage.
    Example: if you bump to 13.5*301 giving a NB F of 2709MHz, a small increase of 9MHz will increase the CPU/NB auto voltage 0.12v to 1.47 - 1.52v !
With that kind of voltage i can do +3000MHz on my cpu.

Probably Asus (bingo13) hasn't finished tune in the bios auto voltages above 4GHz + 2600MHz just yet?

Just about everyone is working on them now along with the M4A79 series as we just released a slew of BIOS' for the current boards (Crosshair IV, M4A89GTD/M4A89TD), which is at the start of this thread.

IMC voltage still set very high on auto as well.
2.86Ghz CPU/NB sets an auto voltage of 1.51+v.
    I set it manually.....

if you overclock your PC it is never a good idea to use auto settings for voltages

Run 905 bios here and i'm having big random CPU voltage using Everest and CPUz readings, going from 1.4v (manually set in bios), 1.48v, 1.5v, 1.57v, almost 1.6v @idle

    CPU voltage: 1.4v
    CPU/NB Voltage: 1.3v
    Others settings on Auto
    Both LLC: Enabled
    Turbo: Enable
    No OC, only NB: 2800mhz

Seems CPU voltage are random occording to Turbo speeds behavior

@Load, CPU voltage stays at 1.44v (LinX)

    If you switch
    CPU & NB Voltage Mode
from: "Manual" to: "Offset" it works.
If set to "Manual" they (CnQ & C1E) are greyed out.

Yes, everything over 2.7GHz is way to high (see my prev post about this)

What does ProbeIT or ROG Connect read? We have new microcode and the third party applications are not reading VCore correctly at this point.

Yes, you and I know that.
I'd just be worried about someone who doesn't know any better and popped thier IMC...
Maybe it's just me , but I consider 1.5v on the IMC risky and unnnecessary.

nex_73:, Yeah, I saw your post. Thought you were refering to 0903...
