It's currently not possible to test it with Prime95, because I don't have AMD retention bracket for the Megahalems and it's only put on top, plus I don't want to stress the board right now.
However, Cinebench score at 5GHz 1.44V was pretty normal, no throtling and I have no airflow around the VRMs. The board is on a stand without a single fan installed, except 2 Enermax Magma on the cpu, running at lowest possible rpm. Will test with proper cooling soon, just need some free time, it's my 24/7 system.

Problems with the board are not huge. I can think of only these described, plus AOD doesn't work before you enable and then disable again Turbo control within the software.
But core frequencies are not dropping like with Bulldozer even if you don't do it. You had to apply the same Turbo on/off trick to stop cores from dropping on Bulldozer.
Now you just can't change multi before the trick.

So, please tell me if I have got it well:
    1) Turbo control can be disabled only while in Windows
    2) Multiplier too can be changed only in Windows because of 1)

    Is it right?

    Bye.

    No.

Turbo control can be disabled in bios and cpu frequency is not dropping - stays the same accross all cores, while it was dropping with FX-8150 if I don't do the trick.
It's related to APM, I think.
With the 8350 I can set 4.5GHz (200x22.5) or any other combination and it will run fine.
However if I want to use AOD to change settings within Windows, I still need to Enable and then Disable Turbo core from the app, assuming it's disabled in the bios.
If I don't do it, AOD sets default multi and default VID, not sure but it might be even Turbo multi, need to check.
    TurboV doesn't work. PSCheck works.

Crosshair IV extreme + bios 3027 works as well. Same bios quirks as InfraRed mentioned for the formula, but it works

So all considering FX-8350 is already definetely a go for 890FX Asus users?

Seems fine for 24/7. However if you need high RAM clock, you have to significantly increase HT Link and this limits the possible combinations.
Current bios is not very suitable for extreme overclocking, although the board pwm seems to be fully capable.
Unfortunatelly my board is coldbugged, so no point in testing on LN2.

I really hope we'll see fully functional bios, but honestly I doubt it. Still it's good that we have it working at least.

Asus will not (officially said) support new FX-X3XX over 890FX/G/GX platforms.

If they fix the bios quirks for FX-X1XX is enough
They will also work with FX-X3XX in case you wonder .

Btw Punisher , since you quote me : i never asked for official FX-X3XX support , where do you get that from .

This is strange. If you look at the M5A88-M page on the ASUS site, and click on the supported cpu's link, you will find both FX-8350, FX-8320, and FX-6300 officially supported on this 880G/SB850 boards. I wonder why not for the 890GX? The 890GX is actually an older chip (larger die size, etc). I wonder if it has something to do with the level of HyperTransport supported by these older chipsets?

It has to do with level of money Asus would like to take from you pocket.

I think it has nothing to do with chipsets ,and more with mainboard series, if im correct all 5 series are going to have support, beceause thats what theyre selling.

Happy with my FX-8350 Prime stable air OC on 890FX:

    NB 210Mhz +0.05V
    CPU x21 = 4420Mhz +0.04V
HT (x13 through AMD OverDrive, impossible to overcome CPU\NB with HT on BIOS even if you force settings) = 2730Mhz +0.06V
    CPU\NB = 2320Mhz +0.02V
    CPU VDDA (fondamentale): 2.65V
    LLC CPU&CPU\NB ON
    DDR3 1T@1966Mhz 9-9-9-27 1.5V

    2xGTX580 SLI @851-4204Mhz 1.063V

    +No Turbo,No APM,No C&Q,No C1E, AMDMsrTweaker.

I know CPU is quite low but I need more voltage to keep it Prime stable and temp. goes up too much!

    Benchmark in signature.
