The latest BIOS's for the 890 chipsets are Bulldozer BIOS's I doubt if there will be any others before Bulldozer is released.

Hey tonyb, I just sent an email to ya about the 2002 bios.
I was hoping to get a copy of it.

I recently filed down my chipset heatsink standoffs, helped temp's wise but it still didn't get rid of my stability prob.
I'm all for trying another bios.

The only probs I have now stability wise are the crashing explorer after saving a large file(with opera), pic viewer sometimes has corrupt controls(graphic wise), rotating images using transparent selection in mspaint-win7 ver corrupts a 1/3 of the image.
Games and testing programs are stable.
And the prob I have with burning on any type of dvd (tried 4 diff brands of disks), but I think it's the cable, hoping so, the burner is only a month or 2 older then the board :\ (gotta spare burner so I can figuer it out even if I need to replace it).

I'm using the 1902 bios, like to upgrade to something better.

    Edit:
Err couldn't edit my post with the latest opera ver lol

Hi m8 BIOS sent, sorry I wasn't on yesterday. I see you have 2133mhz ram are you running it at 2133Mhz? I had a few stability problems at 2133mhz took a bit of fiddling to get it stable at that speed I had to increase the actual NB voltage slightly to stabilize the FSB at 267mhz and you will need to increase the CPU/NB voltage as well. Have you tried lowering the memory speed to see if it makes a difference to your problems? they could possibly be down to memory corruption.

Hey dude thanks for up'ing .
And no I don't run my ram at that speed, I couldn't figure it out so I run it at 2000mhz (8-9-7 cmd1).

I've tried tons of things, even rma'ed my ram.
It's gotta be either my ram or my vga card.
I'll try a diff vga card tonight and see if that fixes anything.
I gotta try a diff sata cable for my dvd burner anyways.

Anyways I just flashed the 2002 bios, took me a bit to get back online with it, resources changed with this bios (lan resources changed for sure).
Seems quicker though for some odd reason, shutdown times and the internet seems faster, it could be nothing lol .

    yep. more than 70 C.

but my gigabyte 990fxa-d3 bios f5c (new beta bios) have APM options in bios and I disable it.
    multiplier not drop (temp > 80 C)

old bios (f4) multiplier drop same when temp more than 70 C.

I can't say either way but I've been sticking with the 2002 bios, seemed more stable but I really don't know :\.

CPU sensor reads between 10-20c low, average is probably ~15c. It has been this way on AMD CPU's since X6.

In one review the ambient temperature was 23c, while the CPU was idle at 6c. I'd have to guess that his CPU was >20c off of correct values.

There is a new BIOS 3030 available for M4A89GTD PRO/USB3.
    I'm surprised :-)
and now wondering if this board will be able to run the next BD generation this autumn.

    changelog:
    M4A89GTD PRO BIOS 3030
    Improve system compatibility.

I can confirm that FX-8350 works on Crosshair IV Formula with latest 3029 bios.
Well, the problems from Bulldozer bios are still there, but otherwise it's fully functional.

I'm still missing mem dividers higher than 1866 and control of active cores/modules in bios.
There's voltage offset mode only and I can't lower volts more than -0.06V, which for my CPU means ~1.33V (1.3875V vid) but on the plus side it's 0.7V, which is enough for LN2, I think.

Thanks a lot for your post.

Which problems are you talking about? Just those you have just described?

And what about frequency stability\throttling issue while idle and\or during Prime95? (monitoring over time)

    Thanks a lot.
