I think I did install with audio & LAN enabled - seeing as disabled didn't make a difference, I figured neither could be the cause

    I used -v

about 2 mins left till install finish!

    what are all those for?

I have a problem: I did install with LAN & audio enabled, but none are working in the system/OS - if I go to system preferences it says there is no device for either

ok multibeast is a program that allows you install the bootloder on your hdd so you wont have to boot using the disc all the time basically it install programs and kext for the hackintosh to work and you need it otherwise the sound and lan wont work.

Now we already know that you lan wont work because there arent any kext for you mobo unfortunally so we gotta concentrate on you sound and video..

how is your video? are you getting full res support and QE/QC (those are the graphic enablers I was telling you earlier if you have full res and your video is not laggy then you are alright....) any other hardware not working? I suppose you are using another pc to talk on XS so if I was you I would look for a spare PCI ethernet laying around if you havent got one you are screwed until you get a wireless dongle...

I haven't actually tried to boot without the DVD in - good thing you told what multibeast does!
    ok so I'll download multibeast

video is fine - I am using the onboard Intel - can I just plug the nv7600GS back in? the onboard I think is working fine - I'm only connected to a 15" LCD (1024x768/60Hz max ) however I'm connected thru a KVM switch, so the onboard + KVM are playing silly - I doubt there is anything I can except take the KVM out of the equation

    what is QE/QC?

ok I unzipped it & there are 2 identical .kext files.... no idea how to install tho I simply tried clicking on them - the OS had no idea what to do

    updates:

ok so I installed a few too many audio drivers.... result? GSOD! (kernel panic)
fix: re-install! now that I'm 'experienced'
I re-installed with the nv 7600GS as well
I read the tonymac tuts a lil more closely - I now can boot without the DVD!
only thing left now is the audio - I think I have tried everything - no go

PS multibeast has the Audio and Lan driver you should be able to install the 7600 Nvidia card and should work out of the box...

Alright David what install method for Lion do you suggest for this combo: GA-P67A-UD3-B3, i7-2600K, evga geforce 210 512mb?
    Cruncher #1: EVGA Z68 FTW | i7-2600k @ 4.5 | 6GB Ram
    Cruncher #2: Supermicro Dual-Socket | 2 x 6-core Opterons | 4GB Ram
    Cruncher #3: 8-core Xserve 1,1

    T400 for non-crunching
