you do think that lion would increase compatibility much? I ordered snow leopard and will see what is possible and what is not. I am sure I will come back to you.

Yes precisely my point, specially if you are running the Intel 3000 gpu, with a later definition and better support for your hardware, could you give me a more detailed information about your particular hardware thought? good luck!

PS you dont need to buy SL to run Lion and vice-verse.. ultimately you need a copy of Lion PM me.

Well, I always thought Lion is upgrade only, as I couldn't find it anywere.

It is a lenovo 220i, with an Intel 2310M and a HD3000, Intel® QM67 Express chipset and Intel WLAN(without CD/DVD drive). Currently I am following this guide but I am stuck at point 8. When I start the osx installer, the apple logo appears for a very short amount of time but then the pc restarts. I tried it with -x but that doesn't help. Using the iBoot legacy version, I get kernelpanics using either of the options -x PCIRootUID=1.

    I appreciate your help.

EDIT: I found this thread which doesn't look good at all.

Ya those links wont help you much am afraid, am on a business trip to France and will be back on the weekend I will then PM you a link to the necessarily software as I dont wanna get in trouble with copy rights and what not, but to answer you question you do not need to have preinstalled SL to install Lion, specially using UNIBEAST...

    Smile Here we go

ONLY TO BE USED ON A REAL APPLE PC // NON-HACKINTOSH!!

This is the version I have used LINK by all means you can get it from different sources, If anyone is having difficulties installing let me know ill make a video....

You should be able to burn a bootable image from this DMG....

    Use these instructions:

Right click on “Mac OS X Lion” installer and choose the option to “Show Package Contents.”
Inside the Contents folder that appears you will find a SharedSupport folder and inside the SharedSupport folder you will find the “InstallESD.dmg.” This is the Lion boot disc image we have all been waiting for.
Copy “InstallESD.dmg” to another folder like the Desktop.
Launch Disk Utility and click the burn button.
Select the copied “InstallESD.dmg” as the image to burn, insert a standard sized 4.7 GB DVD, and wait for your new Lion Boot Disc to come out toasty hot.
It is important that you burn your Lion boot disc or backup the Lion installer prior to installing Lion itself. If left in the Applications folder the installer will be removed after the Lion installation is completed. If you are reading this article after upgrading to Lion all is not lost. A fresh copy of the Lion installer can always be re downloaded from the Mac App Store by clicking on the Purchased tab with the Option key held down.
With the Lion boot disc you can boot any Lion compatible Mac, and install 10.7 just like you installed previous versions of Mac OS X. You can even use Disk Utility’s Restore function to image your Lion boot disc image onto a external drive suitable for performing a clean install on a optical-drive-less MacBook Air, or Mac mini. Clean installs with Lion are easy once you find where Apple has hidden the boot disk.

I have changed the hardware config of my hackintosh a little:

out with the NV9800GTX+ & in with a AMD 5450 passive cooled
also in with a broadcom chipset TP-Link wireless N card - was lucky enough that was auto recognised as AirPort extreme or something like that!
I also ditched the 2x 74GB Raptors in RAID0 & went with a single RaptorX I also put in a pithy 36GB Raptor which I will make as a scratch disk for PS!

I have obviously needed to re-install OSX... on 10.7.2 atm; tomorrow I will attempt to update to 10.7.3

I will be loading the hack up with FCP10 & CS5.5

@davidkozat: have you ever tried iATKOS? That is what I'm using. Any/all 'driver' issues I fix after OSX install - I use multibeast after OSX install to get audio working. I still need to install PS CS5.5 - but I have a sneaking suspicion that GPGPU won't work in PS I'm quite desperate to get it to work!

oh &..I OC'd the hack.. but it still doesn't want to boot into OSX when it's OC'd

Great to here from you Tiro! I have tried iAtkos versions before, but I find them to be very large and I prefer to use Unibeast as I find it really easy and almost never fails, Am not sure if the 5450 card will support GPGPU, I know the latest multibeast has fixed a lot of problems with Nvidia cards, also your OC problem are rather strange Hardware OC shouldnt be coursing your OS not to boot as it tends to be more stable on Hackintosh in the first place, are you sure you dont do abything else on the BIOS that might be problematic also what actually happens when you OC? No Boot?, or Kernel Panic....??

    Good Luck!!

Well tonymac and macman have just release the latest chimera 1.9.xx and I supports more than 1 Gpu some people have 3, so as long as the cards have support should be difficult to get them working I'll look in to it later

So you want to have dual monitors going? Not dual gpu like crossfire? Just dual monitor support? Because thats possible. I've done it before. You need to edit gfx strings. Theres a guide out there somewhere..

Uhmm I think he is asking about adding 2 different cards which IS possible besides dual monitors is support, pretty much every card that has 2 DVIs or 1 and a VGA, so normally cards that are supported on Hackintosh can (almost most of the times) be used with 2 monitors, though the VGA or DVI or HDMI so yeah.... 2 monitors No problem , 2 different cards ATi + ATi or Nvidia + Nvidia = Yes with latest Chimera or GFX strings ATi + Nvidia hmm not so sure....

Ok so I got 2 questions:

Are you trying to install Lion or Leopard? if Lion then you can burn a copy to a Dvd like I mention before, or use the Unibeast method like on the video I uploaded previously...

if it Leopard then, you will have to burn an image to a DVD...

By the way are you installing it to a Apple PC or a Hackintosh??

Alright well as long as you got a Lion compatible mac all you got to do is burn image to a DVD and boot from it, of course make a back up of your data, and then install it like any other bootable image

PS you don't need to have any pre OS installed.
