My memory might be bad, but I'm pretty sure reference PCBs are identical. Wasn't the 9800 GTX very quickly replaced by the + because the normal one couldn't keep up with the 4850?
The G92 cards often share PCB layouts, the 8800 GT and GTS have exactly the same layout (I got a GT block on the GTS).
