    FAH GPU Tracker V2

FAH GPU Tracker V2 is a Folding@Home Client tracking and control program that I created to make folding easier.

    Features:

    - Controls up to 9 clients (CPU or SMP, up to 8 GPUs)
    - Tracks detailed stats for every client and every name/team combo
    - Tracks WU failures by project number for each client
    - Saves the logs of failed WUs
    - Can automatically reconfigure user information from an XML file
    - Gaming Pause feature to pause clients while gaming
    - Automatically updating projects list (pulled from psummary)
    - Hides all client windows to prevent taskbar clutter
    - Can be minimized to system tray
    - Automatic update support
    - Heat Control setting to throttle GPUs based on the current WU
    - Allows switching between the GPU2 and GPU3 clients (per-GPU)
    - Can export an XML file with the current status of the Tracker
    - Can upload the XML status file to an FTP server
    - Downloads the FAH clients from Stanford on first run
    - PPD monitoring of all clients including bonus points for SMP A3

    Download v3.54 - Final:
    FAH GPU Tracker V2

    FAH GPU Tracker V2 website:
    Tracker Website

FAH GPU Tracker V2 support forum:
    Support Forum

    Installation:
    1. Extract FAH GPU Tracker V2.zip
    2. Run FAH GPU Tracker V2.exe (If you have UAC enabled run it as administrator)
    3. Go to Setup -> Configure
    4. Change the options as you see fit
    5. Hit apply and close the config page
    6. You are ready to start folding!
    7. Hit the start button(s) on the desired client(s) to begin folding

I am open to suggestions on how to improve the Tracker, and would be happy to add anything that seems useful.

(Just to avoid any confusion, I go by the name jedi95 on other forums and I am the actual author of this program)

Wow, I don't know what to say, that looks like it would really ease the setup of multiple GPUs. I currently don't fold on GPUs but maybe someone will chime in to try it out and report findings! Thank you for your contribution!

Does it have the option to completely reset a GPU client in case of error? In case of bsod or driver reset sometimes the client goes flaky for some reason, we found it's best to start with a fresh client folder/configuration to recover.

You can do Client -> (client) -> Delete WU to do this.

It deletes the work folder, queue.dat, FAHlog.txt, myfolding.html, unitinfo.txt, and any files the Tracker generated for that WU. It doesn't delete the client executable file, but I have had equally good results with this method.

The Tracker removes these files between WUs anyway, so this shouldn't be needed often if at all. This includes if the client fails a WU. (EUE, UNSTABLE_MACHINE, ect)

This works fairly well for me, and I rarely have clients fail WUs:

This is a nice light weight app. I am currently giving it a go on two of the boards in my GPU farm. Will report back with the results after a day or so. But I may use this on my entire farm.

    Excellent work.

Version 2.79 is out which includes the GPU3 client. The new GPU3 config page allows you to pick which GPUs will use the new client (all others use the GPU2 client). Note that due to the size of this update it may take several minutes, during which the Tracker will be unresponsive.

Version 2.8 BETA is out. This version will be the last beta version available for public download. Starting with this version only stable versions will be released publicly. This is to prevent a situation similar to the early 2.7x releases that had tons of bugs due to new features.

If you want to join the beta team to help with development and get access to beta versions you can apply on the FAH GPU Tracker V2 forums here:

Glad you like it. The latest beta uses even less because it doesn't need the extra client container programs. If it doesn't have any major problems I will release it as a full stable version in a few days.

Version 2.89 stable is out. This version adds a new client details viewer that shows more WU info and FAHlog.txt. It also uses a new method of running hidden clients that should resolve the issues caused by the old method.

Version 2.93 stable is out. This version changes the initial setup of the Tracker. The FAH clients are now downloaded from Stanford on the first run rather than included with the Tracker. In addition, ATI GPU DLLs are now set-up automatically according to OS.

    Version 3.08 released!

This release fixes various bugs and adds some new features. First, an option to run -bigadv for the SMP client has been added. Second, tooltips have been added to the config page to explain what the options do. Finally, there is the new update system. The new update system downloads all the update files in a single .zip file. This file is then MD5 verified before installing. The new system also supports direct updating to the latest version from any other version.

Version 3.10 Stable has been released!

This version fixes another problem with clients hanging, so that should be fixed now. This version is also designed to work with the new 6.30 SMP client that doesn't use MPI. There are a couple changes related to this:

    1. The Tracker no longer checks if install.bat has been run
    2. The MPI files are no longer included in the full download

Love the program. I have been using it for about a month now and it rocks. Makes setting up a system soo easy now. I have one question though. When it deletes an old work unit does that interfere with the SMP time bonuses? I know there is some rule like to get the bonus you must return 80% without eue and make the deadlines. So if it's deleting the logs does it look to stanford like it is a new client returning the unit and thus not qualify for the bonus points?

Short answer: It does not interfere with the SMP bonuses.

    Long answer:
When completing a WU the "Deleted WU on SMP" simply means that queue.dat, the work folder, and all the logfiles for that WU were deleted. Since the Tracker runs all the clients in -oneunit mode and restarts them between WUs there is not actually a WU downloaded when this occurs. As a result, it does not count against the A3 bonus points.

    Version 3.25 released!

This release introduces a long-requested feature: PPD monitoring!

The PPD monitoring in the Tracker does calculate bonus points in realtime, just like HFM.NET. So the PPD shown for the SMP client is the real PPD you are getting. It also keeps benchmarks, just like FahMon and HFM.NET. To delete the benchmarks for a specific client, go to Client -> [client name] -> Delete WU Benchmarks.

There are many other new features that go with this, like showing the current PPD in the tray icon text, showing TPF + WU ETA + time to deadline + PRCG in the client details viewer, and showing PPD in the client stats viewer.

EDIT: updated to 3.25 with some bugfixes and other minor changes

Just create a file with these nodes:

    <config>
    <name>jedi95</name>
    <team>111065</team>
    <passkey></passkey>
    <eocid>443273</eocid>
    </config>

Then enter the location of the file into the Tracker's config. An example would be:
    http://www.mysite.com/config.xml
    or
    C:\Folding\config.xml

You can name the file anything you want.

    Version 3.30 released!

Version 3.30 is a major revision to the Tracker. Most of the focus has been on making setting up the Tracker a better experience. The two changes focused on this are the addition of a FAH client download monitoring window, and automatic Nvidia GPU detection and client setup. The download monitoring window also adds the ability to stop the FAH client downloads before they complete without exiting the Tracker. GPU detection is done through CUDA, so there is no support for ATI GPUs at this time. I plan to add that later through OpenCL once the new ATI core comes out.

This release of the tracker also adds the ability to upload the status XML file to an FTP server. This was added at the request of another developer working on a smartphone app that will use this information to display the status.

3.30 also includes tons of bugfixes covering a wide variety of problems. The worst problems would occur when the name or team contains invalid characters. For example, if your folding name contained a space the Tracker would enter a client reconfig loop.

Could you be more specific about this problem?

What software is detecting it as virus and what information is shown about it?

The only things I can think of that might cause an antivirus or firewall detection:

    1. Downloading the FAH clients from Stanford (firewall might prompt for this)
    2. Checks the project website for updates (if enabled) (firewall might prompt for this)
    3. GPU detection using CUDA
    4. The control code for the FAH clients (start/stop processes)
