    other gulftown release date?

    when will the lower (less expensive) gulftowns hit the shelves?

    3rd quarter is the best estimate I've seen.

    All of the Xeon based on the 32nm architecture are out. I am running two X5650's. You can get a e5620, e5630, or e5640.

    Anthing with 56XX in it is based on the 32nm tech.

    I have an X5660 and it is a great chip, I have been keeping vtt below 1.4 and vcore below 1.47 for benching.

    This is not an estimate but actually on Intel's books. The date is supposed to be about 6 months after the original March release for Gulftown / Westmere-EP. So unless it gets pushed up, we should be expecting them about the end of September.

    I believe that a discounted Xeon 36XX series Gulftown processor will also be released with the Core i7-970 in Q3. This should be the W3670 model.

    I would expect an end of September date also and a $550 - $600 price tag. I'll take a few.

    EDIT:nevermind its seems to just be a downclocked 980x and pure speculation as to performance
