thats not unusual man ive seen that happen on many boards

the best runs in 3D are always fresh after reboot and sometimes you have to get a "good" boot as well....not just 06 but others too

the other thing you could try is playing with IOH volts and watch your QPI clocks...try different ratio

I overclocked the x5677 to 6169mhz on the rampage and ran wprime 32m and still only ranked 3rd for the quad cores.. something is weird with that board and xeons. cant wait for the UD9!
yeah i saw your run on HWBOT and thought that was weird that you were 3rd with a lot more CPU power

Yes, I know 3d benchmarks gets random socres.
But I think, this problem is not same things.
Because this score down problem happens evetytime, not randomly.
Over 1000 marks down does not happen other mobo at default clock.

I will try IOH Voltage playing.

I still testing UD9 mysterious behavior.
    I run 3D06 5 loops w/o restart program.
    (Set CPU/GPU clock default.)

    WindowsXP x86 with Forcewave 257.21.
    22884 - 22674 - 22140 -22073 -22079
(If program close every run, the scores are around 22850 - 22950)

    WindowsXP x64 with Forcewave 257.21.
    22816 - 22215 - 22522 -22519 -22079

    Windows7 x64 with Forcewave 257.21
    22322 - 22324 - 22278 - 22322 - 22343

As above result, W7 does not happen strange behavior.
hmmmmm, Why UD9 happens these kind strange behavior when it run on WinXP?????
REX3 & E762 does not happens these kind strange random score.

Does anyone has any good idea what improve 3D score on WinXP x86?

Maybe it's just a weird thing.. My scores change the more I stay in windows.. could be that.. I got cold bug on the x5677 at around -90c.... really crappy.. so even with the high clocks, too much heat is why it's so low?

I don't have a blow torch or hair dryer anywhere and it was taking ages to warm up. I wanted to change the CPU so I just set the left over acetone alight.

    btw,

Bummer.. Ok, so I got my UD9 back from gigabyte.. They said it was fixed and there's no problems.. Well, I just tried it and the problem is still there.. Shuts down while entering windows at anything over stock clock speeds.. 4.0ghz at 1.325v = shut down.. 3.33ghz also equals shutdown if the boards been on for hours.. Oh well... Any suggestions? Thanks!

    are you serious?

you need to send it back and tell them a pci e slot / ram slot doesn't work and get a new board. I would be pissed as that is the flagship model now and it should have no problems like that.

good luck and congratulations on your vantage run

    Hello Folks.

So here I am with an i7 930 (for now) and my first GB-mobo, but the only stabel OC I can manage is 3634Mhz with a multiplier at 22, BCLK 165.18, core voltage 1.376v, and as you can see on my SS some other v settings.

My question is, is there an OC-guide/step by step for this mobo somewhere? Or is there a kind spirit that will help me out there to reach 4000Mhz?

Because I didn't have these OC problems with my Classified or with my R2E, that were with my old core i7 920, but i did mannage 4200Mhz without these problems.

i had an issue once where the setup wouldnt go past a certain bus and thought it was odd...had to clean and remount the CPU.

you seem to be having issues with the bus so try working on that first with lower multi. Might as well remount and don't evertighten. Also just for starters OC with one stick of RAM and then put the rest in.

go through the list of options in bios that you are changing...

I did try with 12 multi. and then up the bus from there but it wont go past 165, about the remount ill try that later today and with one stick of ram.

does it matter witch PCI-E-lane the 480GTX are in? the one 480GTX i have now is in the 4-lane, and my ram are in the white lane?

So i didt the remount of the heatsink and CPU, and put my 480GTX in the first 16x PCI-E lane and booted up with one stick of ram, this time i manged to get 12x166 and 21x166, i didt also try to put the pedal to the metal 12x170, 12x180, 12x190, 12x200, 12x201 that were with vcore at 1.4v and qpi/vtt at 1.335 just to se if there were any luck but there wasent beside the 12x166/21x166

What is your uncore, mem, and qpi multipliers/speeds? that would seem to be the issue, b/c your voltages are high enough to get over 200blck easily, and your using a powerful flagship motherboard. If i were you I would set your memory multiplier to 6x, your uncore to 13x, and your qpi to 36x.

is it possible that you type the entire word, because my English is not the best and I would rather not do anything wrong that I misunderstand an acronym if you understand?

uncore is the speed of everything else in the processor, its called the uncore in your bios. Memory is the mem, it will probably be called the memory multiplier, the qpi is called the qpi. They are all under advanced frequency control. Your voltages are all in order. Your motherboard is able to do 200 base clock easily, i am guessing that your other frequencies are too high.
