    MM U2-UFO radiator compatibility

Have an older UFO(non HM) and was wondering if a PA120.3 would fit in the front panel. Had a BI GT 360 but the screw holes wouldn't line up with the case and rad. Sold it thinking the rad was the problem but now thinking it's the case.

What should the fan spacing be on this case?

Sounds like it's the old Thermochill spacing. I think it was something like 17mm. The older MM's used to have that spacing as default.

the older thermochill spacing used to be 25mm and now it is 15mm to be compatible with all other radiators spacing.

So then an old style PA120.3 should fit then, correct?

Yes its going to be hard to find them obviously since TC no longer makes them. Going to have to find one used.

dunno if you can manage it using a shroud? fans can have 25m spacing and then you attach the shroud to the rad with whatever spacing you want.

    Doesn't quite work without a little modd'ing.

If you use an "old" shroud (with the 25mm spacing), the shroud is actually about two inches too long (an inch on either side) than the new 15mm radiators, so you can't get a seal around the rad. Plus the holes along the top [where the shroud screws into the rad casing] don't line up.

Going the other direction is a little easier. The mounting holes still don't line up right, but now the radiator (at 25mm) is longer than the shroud (at 15mm), which is easier to seal.

(I'm actually doing this right now....2 older 25mm rads and "new" 15mm shrouds to line up with a new UFO front panel. I tried to order a new front panel with the older 25mm spacing from MM, and the web-site let me order it, but they e-mailed me and said they don't actually make them with the older spacing anymore)

ah...custom shroud then i suppose . i have one of the non hypermodular cases, so i'm stuck with 25mm spacing. cross that bridge when i come to it i suppose.

which reminds me, I've got one panel with "regular" spacing and it doesn't fit my mcr320. All the other panels are fine but the top one basically :-/

They really should take their heads out of their asses and stop sending out mixed spacing panels...
