    Gentle Typhoon's AP-15 (1850 RPM)

This post is just to say these fans rock! Very quiet even at full RPM on an RX360. I was running S-flex f's (1600 RPM) before and these are quieter to my ear by a good margin.

I'm going to have to change all of my case fans now.

If you are even considering these fans I would highly recommend.

    I like mine too!

I haven't put my computer back together yet, but just powering them up off a PSU they seemed to move a nice amount of air, and I couldn't really hear them at all from a couple feet away.

they would be quieter, however you are losing airflow also compared to the S-Flex. Tests may need to be done to prove that, but by the sheer specifications of each,

    57.7cfm for the Typhoon and 28dBa 1850RPM

    75 cfm for the S Flex and 35dBa 1900RPM

for sure 35dBa is noisy compared to 28dBa. the question is, the base difference in cfm is 17.7 cfm, so then the question becomes, what is the ACTUAL difference seen on the radiator; aka, how well do the fans perform

There are tons of reviews. I have push/pull 1850s on a true and it is silent and cool.

That is true for those running the S-Flex G's which are 1900 RPM. I was running the F's which are 1600 RPM 63 CFM.

Martainm210 did testing on flow of a bunch of fans on a rx120.

    S-Flex G 1900 RPM - 37 CFM
    S-Flex F 1600 RPM - 26 CFM
    GT AP-15 1850 RPM - 32 CFM

    All at 12v

I've got 5 1850s in my main rig, and and 2 1450s in the crunching rig. I love them too.

Exemay, I saw Gary had stock of 1450s last week, even though shipping across the pond is probably a little pricey.

    not worth the price?

    what do you want?

seriously... your not going to get any kind of "good" cfm at "quiet" levels...

An industrial quality ball bearing fan that will last for 10 years isn't worth $14, but a dime-a-dozen sleeve bearing fan that is lucky to last 10 months is worth $4?

These fans are a BARGAIN for the quality you get. We're talking Sanyo Denki/Panaflo/Comair Rotron type quality here. This is server grade equipment, not some crappy bling fan with sleeve bearings and LED's.

15 bucks a fan isn't bad. You want expensive, go look at some of those Deltas, Nanoxia, Noctua's and NoiseBlockers. Those can get pricey.

Yeah I remember back when I was air cooling I bought a super high speed delta fan for $39.99 that thing sounded like a turbine!

Well here's a shot of my Tyhoons.

Can anyone recommend a good paint for the blades? Spray paint would be the best solution right?

If you paint them with anything make sure it's light and even. I'd hate to see the fan be out of balance cause you blasted one spot too heavy with spraypaint. I can't see that being healthy for the fan

I may be dead wrong, but whatever you do, be careful.

krylon fusion when applied with care has a very durable finish on these blades, not too much color choice, but good solid paint hold

You mean there are other colors besides black?

I'm a subscriber to the old Henry Ford business model "sell them whatever color they want. . .as long as it's black".
