IIRC, the $25 intel NICs were outperforming the Killer ones. I wouldn't be surprised if that's still the case.

Depends on the game,Intel's nic never gave us extra fps or free up cpu cycles. The firewall, network monitor, and voice acceleration(free up cpu cycles again) makes it better than Intel's nic anyday.

Just upgrade your connection speed and keep the system as simple as possible. I don't think I've ever had a game lag in the last 3 years that wasn't the servers fault or ISP issues. A killer nic can't fix either of those

KillerNIC have always been a failure as its been proven shown time and time again that they dont provide any benefits over a decent Intel NIC.

If they were so great why wouldnt top world hardcore gamers use them ?????

The same people said physx was nothing until lol,now everybody wants it.Funny how something is garbage when you never even used one. Most cant afford it so they trash talk it,Example: Console gamers talking about PC's are overpriced Garbage.

I don't understand why they'd cut all of the external functionality that made this device even remotely useful in the first place. Now it's just a NIC, and a NIC that will likely be ridiculously overpriced.

I like the throttling features and such, but now you can't use the external USB features, as they cut that functionality. I still won't pay more than $50 for this thing, and it will probably launch at $100+.

    Unfortunatley that isnt true though.

Nvidia has been pushing PhysX but it is still very pointless and barely used. The only good thing about it is that you can use your last gen nVidia cards as PhysX cards giving them some usefulness.

Do you every actually see anyone say. Im going ot buy an 8800GTX or GTX260 to use as a PhysX card. I certainly dont ever see anyone say that.

Nvidia has been pushing PhysX in a big way but it is still barely used in any games and doesnt make much difference at all. The only good thing about it is that you can use your last gen nVidia cards as PhysX cards giving them some purpose again after you upgrade.

what is this? Killer NIC's third round of failage? It's definitely been around a couple of times with different revisions. Can't imagine why they still think it's a good idea...

In bold, such a typical response these days. "Ahh you don't like, it's because you can't afford it." Look at my OC only rig and tell me I can't afford a nic card lol.

You bum hurt because not everyone buys into gimmicks?

It is a niche product but does offer someone a better experience in certain apps, especially if one was used in a dedicated server.

Care to share these benchs? I can't find any... (this is a legit question, btw)

Not really a selling point with everybody moving to quads and hexa cores faster than they can make games efficiently multithreaded.
